I have no heat coming out of the vents. Blows cool to warm air and temp guage does not move up to 110. Though maybe it needs coolant flush. Maybe a heater core? I am dumb when it comes to cars.
First check coolant level, not enough will cause both problems. If thats ok its probably a stuck open thermostat, will also cause both problems
You are not dumb when it comes to cars, you are learning more about them! Good description, the not going over 110 temp gauge provides a good clue. This would indicate that your thermostat needs to be replaced. It is stuck in the open position, not allowing the engine to reach operating temperature. This will result in poorer engine performance (a bit more fuel consumption), and little or no heat. So, replace the thermostat, and all should be ok.
If the temperature is cold outdoors, this can be a symptom of a stuck open thermostat. With the thermostat stuck open the engine never gets warm, so it won't give good heat. It's not expensive to get a new one, and they are easy to replace, so take it in and have it checked. Another symptom of that is very low gas mileage in the cold weather.
