Chrysler 07 Pacifica. When left for a long period (overnight for example) it will start no problems first time. But say after a trip to the store, when you return to start, the engines turns over, it tries to start but will not. You try a second time and so far, will always then start. Not sure about these modern day cars ! Any ideas thanks. Dave

Most probably starter problems. It can be not starter itself some vires coming to it are loose. To locate the starter follow heavy wires coming from battery. This how starter looks like

Check the wires coming to it. Also check the fuse, it might be bad starter relay fuse too.

If you're not hearing a click from the starter check for a starter relay. May be burned out! DO you hear the fuel pump kick in when you turn the key on? If not something might have triggered your security system and locked you out!
SOURCE: I have a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica
that would be your HO2 sensor. It's located in the left hand exhaust manifold closer to the top of the engine. It usually takes a special socket to remove one. If you have any doubt, take it to a shop and have them replace it for you. This sensor effects fuel and driveability, don't go to long without fixing it as it may cause damage to your catalytic convertors.
