What would cause my 1995 dodge dakota to shut off when driving it down the road? I t does not run rough or bad and has plenty of power. I have cjanged the knock sensor, distributor, cap and rotar, plugs...

Dakotas and Durangos are notorious for intermittent failures of the crankshaft position sensor. If you get a shutdown like someone just turned the key off, then this is a likely suspect. Fortunately, they are relatively cheap and easy to replace by the DIYer.

89 dakota was sputtering. Wife put gas in it (it was low) and got home fine (10 mi.). started up this morn. and it died after .25 mi. Got it started and got it home. pump or relay?

Did it run out of gas? could be fuel filter.Otherwise turn the key to the run position and you should hear the fuel pump (zzzzzzzzzzzzz),you may only hear it for a couple of seconds, turn the key off and back to run to hear it again. If you don't hear it I would suspect fuel pump,

Car started to sputter on the road press peddle lightly to go slowly tried to go faster and started to do it again I put car in park and pressed peddle again and was sputtering

sounds like it needs a fuel filter. especially with the poor gas there selling us at the pump these days, despite the cost.
