I have a 2003 saturn vue 2.2 engine 5 speed manual and for the past few days when i am dring and i go to slow down and i push the clutch pedal down the engine RPM's drops real low and the vehicle stalls out. what could be the problem?

hydraulic operation , bleed the system , check reservoir level, replace master cylinder
for cable clutch operation , replace the cable
the problem is that the clutch pressure plate is not fully disengaging when the clutch pedal is depressed and the problem is not in the clutch but the pedal operation

There is a compensating port in the M/Cyl that releases pressure in the system when you remove your foot. This blocks from dirty fluid and allows the system to pump up without releaseing. If you have insufficient clutch pedal adjustment you will also not allow the m/cyl piston to return sufficient to clear this hole
You have a slave cylinder for this trans. Pump the clutch pedal 25 times with the engine OFF. Then start it and try shifting it into each gear while parked. If this make it work your slave cylinder needs to be replaced
If the timing chain is ok, You may see it, looking through the oil filler cap? May be just flooded, hold the gas pedal to the floor and try to start it.
check for leaks on master cylinder if you haft to add brake fluid its definately leaking,throw out bearing maybe going out?may of glazed pressure plate? good luck!!
