I had this same problem. The wiper blades would extend too far and hit the edge of the car, or they wouldn't extend far enough and only wipe about 3/4 of the windshield. The problem was a broken Wiper Rod A. My local mechanic replaced it - the part was about $20 and the labor about $230. Have them look at wiper rod A

My 2000 Acura TL wiper arms bang the cowling and pillar. What is wrong

might be someone took the whole arm off to paint em or whatever so while they are in the off position check to make sure they don't need a quick adjustment for example if they are flat/level with the windshield lower seal if they are than you got the wrong size blades if they are off a little than remove clip holding the windshield wiper arm and slide off of the cog and move it a couple teeth till its flat than check your work by turning the wipers on if they aren't perfect than keep adjusting till they are on both sides

at the base of the wiper blades there is a nut that holds the wiper arm to the linkage it sounds like the nut is loose tighten the nut on each one and see if it fixes it if it doesnt fix it then it would be in the linkage but i believe it's the nuts

When it rains my passenger side wiper blade hits the stop or bottoms out and makes a clunking noise. I need to know if it is an adjustment or a linkage replacement

Adjustment....There is either a cap on the wiper assembly arm or a small allen nut.

with a cap, take a small screwdriver and pop off the cap, there is a locknut there, loosin it,raise the blade up higher, tightin nut.

Allen screw, loosen raise blade and tighten.
