When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacturer's service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

on the TL - 5 digit code for the radio; 4 for navi; numbers are typically on a sticker on the side of the glovebox (nearest radio) or rear truck arm (great security acura?). This is part of your vehicle's anti theft system. You need to enter a 4 digit code to unlock your radio. Often, the dealer will write this code on a card, and put it in the owner's manual. If not, you need to go to the dealer, and they can look up your code, using the VIN number of your car. There isn't any other way to get this info.

You will have to go to dealer to have unlocked. The vehicle has built in theft lock system in radio. Most of them have code stored in radio that needs to be pulled before removing battery.

radio is locked out from installing incorrect code to many times need to disconnect battery for couple minutes then reconnect and install correct code

pull out the radio or back up fuse ...in the underhood fuse box for a few minutes and retry the code....

I have a 1997TL my code was on the back of the ashtray when you pull it out
