Honda Civic 2001 electrical issues

Hi, as winter get closer my Civic (01) started to be more fastidious. Two front light beams burned-out; one rear light beam burned out; when all lights are on rear plate lights do not work but when I am turning lights off - plate lights go on... Same with the trunk lights.

Also I have discovered that there is some problems with the windshield wiper lever. Very strange but dashboard lights are on even with the ignition "KEY OUT" when I am stirring the wiper lever.

Any solutions? Thanks!

Honda has a recall on the steering column light switch. A bad harness will cause it to overheat and short out. This will cause both front low beam ligths or high beam lights not to function. You would have probably noticed a burning odor inside the passenger cabin right before your lights failed. Contact your Honda dealer and ask to replace the faulty part. The replacement is of no charge to the consumer.

Check all the fuses are in place (all fuses that are reqired are installed and are the right power) and for burned fuses change them.

Low beams don't work on 1997 Honda Civic

If your high beams work and your low beams do not work... try changing the light bulbs first. The low beams can burn out and the high beams still work.

1999 honda civic. both low beams stopped working at the same time.

First thing to do is check your fuses. The high and low beams on Hondas are on seperate fuses. This is probably whats wrong since it is rare for both headlights to burn out at the same time. If the fuses are good the headlight switch may be at fault. Try the fuses first. The headlight switch is a little more detailed to check. You will need a test light and will have to get to the wiring of the headlight switch to start checking wires for grounds and current.

Hi beams, low beams, taillights, and dash lights stopped working.

Might want to check the fuses if you haven't already.

Highbeam problems

I've had this happen to me. It's a bad bulb with a broken filament the makes and brakes. If when you check the bulb and it's ok than look to the plug on the rear of the bulb possibly not making contact. Good luck.
