Disconnect the Negative side of the Battery before starting.
The Crankshaft Position Sensor is the one that if no signal is sent, the electronics will not initiate.
The Camshaft Position Sensor is located on the front of the engine which is located on the right side of the vehicle, where the pulleys are.
Go to the front of the engine. The Camshaft Position Sensor is located on the top-front of the engine, to the left of the engine mount. It is mounted into the timing chain cover. There should be two (2) wires coming from the wiring cluster going down to this sensor. The Sensor is held on by a 10mm bolt.
To ease your access: Remove the Air Filter Cover and Air Intake Hose. You will have to disconnect the Intake Ambient Air Temperature Sensor connection to the Cover and the hose coming from the front Valve Cover.
Remove the 10mm bolt and electrical connection. To remove the Electrical connections to BOTH Sensors: slide the locking clip (colored red) fully out and push the black-in color clasp arm down. Pull the Camshaft Sensor UP. The Sensor has o-rings on it and is relatively snug, so you will have to pull hard. Remove it. It is hard to get enough fingers on this Sensor so you may have to use pliers to remove it. Just make sure you pull staright out, avoiding snapping the sensor into the hole.
When replacing with the new Sensor: coat the sides of the Sensor with fresh clean oil to ease re-insertion. Make sure you push down hard enough to properly seat the Sensor. Re-install the 10mm bolt. You can use a mirrior to line up the bolt hole with the Sensor opening shaped like a curved "U". Reattach the electrical connections, hoses and Air Filter Cover.
For the Crankshaft Position Sensor: It is located on the top - rear of the transmission housing, just behind the rear postion of the the engine block. To access: Remove the Battery, Battery Tray (bolts should be 13mm and/or 14mm). This Sensor also has: a 10mm bolt attaching it to the housing and two (2) wires going to it. Detach the electrical connection. Remove the bolt and pull it out. There should be a paper spacer on the old and new one. KEEP the spacer on the new Sensor. Again apply oil to the sides to ease insertion back into the hole. Bolt it back on. Reattach the electrical connection, and replace the Battery Tray and Battery.
