There are two things I have come across in the work shop related to this fault. No1 the pistons in the brake cylinder is gummed up and not letting the brakes release . Have to clean and fit new kits. No 2 the flex brake hose rubber inner passage broke down and acted as non return valve. Had to fit new hose and bleed out air.

2001 chevy cavilier z24 will not run it will run about five seconds an quit i replaced the steering column. i think the antitheft is activated. how do i reset it and set the key for the computer

You will have to take it to the dealer for this the computer in the car has to be calibrated or if you can get the computer and key from the vehicle you got the column out of put that computer in your car and then your problem will be solved.

Rear brakes on a 1998 chevy cavilier

The rear brakes will adjust or tighten as the brake pad wear. When you drive the car in reverse this is when the brakes adjust. As suggested in the prior post, inspect the rear brakes. Pay attention to a wheel device that has ratchet. I suspect someone did a brake job and put the adjustor on backwards.
