Sounds like your have a misfire in one of your cylinders...a flashing check engine light with engine running rough. Check your sparkplugs and wires. you should have the code scanned.

I would recommend taking it to an automobile shop so they can scan the check engine light and see which cylinder is misfiring. This usually will run around 100.00. One quick trick that may help you figure out which cylinder is misfiring: Get a spray bottle with soapy water and while your engine is running spray lightly on your sparkplug wires. If the engine starts to misfire or buck when you spray in one area you may have found the cause. Misfires can be caused by many factors so I would recommend the code scan first before you start trying to fix it on your own!
It is a serious problem that you should get checked out immediately. the misfire could be caused by a lack of compression in that cylinder or in rare cases a blown head gasket. Being a 2008 I would doubt that its a head gasket, if it is there should be some type of warranty available. 2 year old cars usually don't blow head gaskets under normal driving conditions. It's not unheard of though.
I have a similar problem. I took it to the dealership and had compression run on it. They swapped out coils plugs and injectors but the misfire was still present on cylinder 1. What should I do now?
