We had our fuel pump changed but noe the car inside stinks of petrol we think the o ring is not put back properly is this dangerous or can we still drive the car as we cant afford to get it fixed

1984 Nissan Sentra? I believe this fuel pump is mounted on the engine, thats a mechanical fuel pump, you sure its not a 1994? If its a 94, you can change the o-ring yourself if you're up for it. On 94's the pump is mounted under the back seat through an access panel via 4 phillips screws.

Long crank before engine start on 08 nissan sentra

You need a fuel pump update kit. Go to your closet Nissan dealership and ask them for a rebuild kit for your fuel sending unit. What has happened is the check ball that keeps gas in the fuel line is not seating well and letting all the gas go back into the fuel tank. So when you try and start the car fuel has to come from all the way in the fuel tank.

1992 nissan nx owner manul on how to remove the gas tank

    1991-96 Sentra
    See Figures 6 and 7

CAUTION Fuel injection systems remain under pressure after the engine has been turned OFF. Properly relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel lines. Also observe all safety practices outlined earlier in the Fuel System Safety Precautions. Failure to do so may result in fire or personal injury.
    1. Following proper procedures, relieve fuel system residual pressure.
    2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    3. Drain the fuel tank.
    4. Remove the rear seat cushion.
    5. Remove the inspection cover.
    6. Disconnect the fuel gauge and the fuel pump electrical harness connector.
    7. At the fuel filler door, disconnect the fuel filler tube from the body.
    8. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
    9. Disconnect the ventilation hoses.
    10. Disconnect the fuel outlet, return and evaporation hoses, at the front of the tank and plug the open fuel lines.

If equipped, remove the tank protector.
    1. Support the tank, remove the fuel tank mounting bolts, and lower the tank from the vehicle.

    To install:
If the sending unit or the fuel pump are removed, a new O-ring must be installed.
    1. Install the fuel tank to vehicle and torque the mounting bolts to 20-26 ft. lbs. (27-37 Nm). If removed, install the fuel tank protector.
    2. Connect all the fuel lines and ventilation hoses.
    3. Lower the vehicle and connect the filler tube to the vehicle body.
    4. Connect the fuel gauge and fuel pump electrical connections.
    5. Install the inspection cover and rear seat cushion.
    6. Pour fuel back into fuel tank.
    7. Connect the negative battery cable.
    8. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.

Is there an access door too the fuel pump on a Nissan 2003 Sentra

You have to remove the rear seat cushion and there is an inspection hole cover over the sending unit and fuel pump. The 2 come out as one unit. Remove the fuel line coupling and then the 6 screws holding the inspection cover on. BE CAREFUL not to bend the level sending arm. If you remove the fuel filter, make sure you mark which way it came of so it cam be put back in the same way.
