I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 6 cyl. no reverse

but car drives perfectly( other shoe drops, wow)
2wd or 4wd, what engine, (size)?????????????????
gas engine?
my guess, working scan too free, are you? sure. and blind.
the PRNDL SWITCH failure
a.k.a; P/n switch park neutral reverse or TRS switch.
no matter the silly name all do the same thing,
glow a lamp. for reverse.
ive posted the full FSM link here over 200 times

is there a problem finding that,(search) or reading it?

this switch is stuck closed. or the pin 6 is shorted to power.

6 cyl? crank sensor common

Ask for dealer for DBRIII to check any DTC's & may need PCM update to control the transmission. At least you won't need to guess problem.

I think you have the reverse light switch usualy on the gearbox witch can be bad/doesn't work.
Thry findin it, it should be with only 2 wires and on the side of the gear box.

1994 is the same as 1997. parts are interchangeable

The problem with your tail light is the housing is broken where the socket goes in. If you pull that socket out and look you will see the metal tap will be pushed down and the plastic around that will be broke. Easy fix is to replace the lens but you can get under the metal tap with a small flat tip screw driver and pull up on it very lightly and it should work for awhile.
