A theif attempted to steal my 2001 saturn sl2 and in turn punched out my ignition and i can't afford to get it replaced so i need to find out how to bypass the passlock system so i can still use my car until i can have it fixed
Well easiest way is to tape the old key near the ignition
without key you need to essentially re wire the ignition and under the hood arround the computer controlls and power supply
press the key against the columb there is a chip reader in the columb if the hole is large enough stick key inside hole than use screw driver to start the car
it should work
if no chip then just tear colum down and remove the switch and make it assessable and just unplug it when you are not in the car
chilton make a great bible for your car that will help it's sold at chapters
just remember to turn the ignition with a screw driver and unlock the wheel
if you go to a salvage yard at times you can find ignitions with the keys in them
remember most gm ignitions ar the same just push the button on the botom of the cylinder while turning it will go in then you just pull the ignition out
if you pay for the ignition they will likely charge you 10 bucks if your an honest guy and dont just walk out with it in the tool kit
as long as it is a older gm ignition and the key looks the same then it will likely fit your car and it's a deal at 10 bucks
even the new code ignition are gust a basic ignition with a sensor arround them to pick or signal from key head
yes remember the bag needs power to deploy just remem ber to unplug the air bag from under neath while behind the wheel so do not put your *** in the seat untill it is unpluged incase it deploys during disconect as it is not unheard of in theft cars
chilton and hayes both make a great bible for your car that will help it's sold at chapters
locate the fuel pump reley and run alternate power to it from acessory circut of ignition

I STILL HAVE THE KEY BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW THAT WILL HELP SINCE THEY TORE OUT THE WHOLE LOCK CYLINDER BUT I'LL TRY WHERE DO I TAPE IT TO? IF I HAVE TO REWIRE IT HOW DO I GO ABOUT DOING SO?
BUT MY KEY DOESNT HAVE ANY KIND OF CHIP IN IT
I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I HAD AN EXTRA MADE A WHILE BACK AT A COMMON HARDWARE STORE? I WILL GIVE IT A TRY
SO SINCE THERE IS NO CHIP IN THE KEY THEN WHERE IS THE PASSLOCK SWITCH LOCATED AT ON THE COLUMN CAUSE I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO LOOK FOR ALSO I FOUND WHAT SEEMS TO BE SOME KIND OF LITTLE RED TOGGLE SWITCH THAT WAS ON THE DRIVER SIDE COMING FROM UNDER THE DASH AND WAS IN THE TRIM NEAR THE DRIVERS DOOR IS THAT OF ANY IMPORTANCE? ONE LAST THING I'M KIND OF WOORIED ABOUT DEPLOYING THE AIRBAG IF I UNPLUG THE POWER TO IT WILL I BE OKAY
OKAY IN THE OWNERS MANUAL IT SAYS THAT THE PASSLOCK THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM IN WHAT ENABLES FUEL IF THE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER IS TURNED WITH A VALID KEY AND IF THE IGNITION IS TAMPERED WITH THE FUEL IS IS DISABLED. AND THATS WHERE MY PROBLEM IS. THEY TORE OUT THE WHOLE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER SO I'M LEFT WITH NOTHING BUT A WHOLE WHERE I USED TO PUT THE KEY AND SO I TRIED TO START IT WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND IT TURNS OVER BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY DISABLES THE FUEL AND SO IT WON'T STAY RUNNING WHAT DO I DO ? I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR TO AS SO I CAN BYPASS IT
