Friend hooked battery up backwards now car starts for 2-5 seconds then stalls or sometimes wont even start

Try charging the battery more. Even though your lights may come one, starting a vehicle requires massive amounts of amperage from the batter. It's possible that your jumper cables aren't a thick enough guage to supply enough power as well. Sometimes the vehicle you're jumping from might not have enough power to support your vehicle's starting power requirements.

if you own a charger, connect it to your battery and charge to full.. then disconnect the negative with the key on..this kills the entire car computer and all..shut the key off and reconnect the negative cable tight..turn the key to the on position DO NOT TRY TO START.. let all the dash indicators go out first..then try to start..otherwise all the codes held in the computer need erased..may require the help of an auto electric shop..or parts store..

a good rule of thumb when jump starting your auto from another ones is that sometimes the problems go from one auto to the other. if they had a bad starter this process could damage yours. i dunno how old yours is but if it turns over and just wont start you might have burnt out the points. is this an american model? if it is just replace the points and perhaps even the distributor cap.both relatively inexpensive and never hurts to have new ones. best of luck to ya mate.

There is no telling what all you burned out from this mistake, how does someone do this???, you could have destroyed every electronic module in the car.

If your battery light is on you have have destroyed the alternator. remove it and take it to an auto parts store to have it checked

Fuel relays then the fuel pump.

alt reg is bad take to discount auto to test the alt. If alt is good. there is a alt fuse on fire wallthat is going bad
