I think you are getting a rotten egg smell, not natural gas. I would check for exhaust leaks from the catalytic converter for starters. Have you checked the grill at the base of the windshield and on top of the firewall? folks have been known to drop eggs down there as a prank.
if it makes a loud exhaust sound when cold its an exhaust leak. most likely the steel fuel line is leaking. check to make sure your air filter is clean.
there is a opening somewhere under your hood in the area of the blower motor casing that is causing the smell. it is highly unlikely but possible that you have an oil leak but i dont think you have a gas leak. get it checked anyway to be safe. good luck
When the heater is turned on, it is drawing in air from the cowl at the bottom of the windshield outside the car. If your smelling gas when you turn it on, it would suggest to me that there may be a fuel leak under the hood. A lot of Honda's have the fuel filter under the hood against the firewall. Open the hood, and see if the gas smell is any stronger, or any gas smell at all for that matter. I would strongly recommend getting the car checked as soon as possible, if you can find the source of the smell yourself.
my question is do you smell gas when outside the vehicle? chances are it is pulling "fresh air" from outside the vehicle and might be pulling vapors due to thew fact you have a gas leak under the hood. check your engine while running and if a gas leak is seen. turn it off imediately and repair it. do not drive it until then. happy holidays
*****stop driving this car**** YOU HAVE A LEAKING FUEL RAIL OR INJECTOR, DO NOT DRIVE THIS CAR UNTIL IT IS FIXED PROPERLY. IF GAS REACHES THE EXSAUST MANIFOLD YOU ARE ON FIRE!!!!!!!
sounds like you need to look through the engine bay and see if your fuel lines are wet anywhere!! There might be a possibilty that you have a leak around the gas tank so jus crawl under the trunk and look to see if it has any kind of wetness around the tank or hoses coming out of the tank!!
