I have a 1997 Subaru Legacy that wouldn't start the other day. After checking some things I found my ECM was bad. Got one from a junk yard and put it in. The car started and had a rough idle. While driving there was no miss until you stopped. Figured new plugs and wires would fix it. The next day it wouldn't start again. Hooked it to the computer and it says cylinder 2 and 4 misfire codes P0302 and P0304. Also got a P0336 crankshaft position sensor out of range. Replaced the sensor and still no start. I am at the end of my knowledge. I really need some advice.

Sounds like the coil is going. The crank sensor will fire the ignitor and fires 2 plugs at once. Have the coil checked first. Good luck.

Is a rear diff from a 1997 subaru legacy wagen with a 2.2l inter changeable with a 1997 subaru legacy outback with a 2.5l ?

the only way you can do this is if you can identify the gear ratios from both cars with the transmission codes found on the strut tower plate.
see this list to check for matches, read it carefully its a ton of info

Can you switch a rear diff from a 1997 subaru legacy wagen with a 2.2l inter changeable with a 1997 subaru legacy outback with a 2.5l ?

the biggest draw back that you will have to check first is the ratio of the diffs you want to change. If they are not the same but will fit then you will destroy the 3rd diff in the transmission from excessive use.

1991 Subaru Legacy 2.2L not Turbo "Idle" very

i would check the idle air control solenoid first. simply unplug it then remove the unit and inspect the air passage for any blockage and carbon buildup. Clean it if its dirty then test it out. If the IAC is good then you should look at the throttle position sensor.

I have a 99 Subaru Legacy (Outback, 2.5L). The check engine light has come on and the codes indicate Cylinder 3 and Cylinder 4 misfires. The light came on about two weeks ago, and occasionally disapears...

hi the cylinder misfire codes are usually pretty specific, if you have replaced the above and it still hasnt fixed the problem try replacing the ignitor or the ecu as thats all it can be left causing the problem

I have a 1997 subaru legacy and i have a fule proble there is a ticking nose up by the moter

the first thing i would check is the fuel injectors. see if there is a leak around one of them. if not check all of the electrical connectors that power the injectors. my guess is you have one that has fouled. these can be fairly easy to change usually just a wire connector and a single bolt holding them in place and they can be fairly inexpensive. thats where i would start i hope this helps.

perhaps you should 've checked the spark plug wire spark plug itself and the wiring going to the coil, there some many things that can cause a particular coil not to work.

I would suspect a mount. Either motor or trans. Also check lateral mount on top of motor to firewall. Good luck and have a great day.

1997 subaru, starter would not engage when hot,

You need to make sure that the grounds for the body and motor are good. Sometimes just turning the bolt will clean them up but better to remove, clean and replace. Also make sure battery terminals and wires are clean and secure. Hope this helps and have a great day.

1991 subaru legacy. The car would not start. I change the fuel filter and tapped on the fuel pump. It started. A few days later same thing. Tapped on the fuel, worked again. A few days later same thing....

You should have a fuse & a relay. Check # 11 fuse it should be 15 amp.& may be for your fuel pump. Do you have owners manual by chance, or does cover of fuses have label?
