On cold mornings, the drivers door of my XK8 will not close properly. The dashbaord states that the door is open and when the door is pulled closed it does not latch closed, but 'bounces' back open. The problem ceases once the car is warmed up during my journey to work and does not reoccur at my destination. Help please!

other than gas, it could be a lot of things.
could be an electrical problem, fuse blown, switch not working, fan not working.
could be mechanical problem, compressor stuck, expansion valve won't open, dryer clogged.
regarding the door lock, open the door panel and check the vacuum valve in the door, could be the problem. check also the line going to the door, it may have a leak. check the linkage, it could be bent or would not work properly.

If you disconnect the battery you must reprogram both windows by holding the button down until you hear it chime takes about 5 or so seconds. Repeat for the other window and this should solve the problem. This information should be in your owners manual, it is in mine

Same thing has happened on mine!
The solution is to reprogram the window limits. You need to sit in the car with doors shut! Turn the key in ignition in position I or II, roll down the window all the way and keep holding the switch for 5 seconds, then roll the window up and again keep the switch pressed for 5 seconds, repeat same steps for other door.
Reprogramming is also described in the owners manual. I don't know how mine became deprogrammed, should only happen if the battery is disconnected!

it should be the door selenoid causing the problem it has the linkage attached to it and would give you the problems you discribe
