1995 ford f 250 with 5.8 runs rough,idles high,temp comes up really high while idling. and on a power balance test #1 cyl shows no drop in rpm. {plug was wet}.

    it sounds like you have either a small leak in the cyl head or gasket whats the color on the plug.

Then a cylinder balance test is done,the injector for each cylinder is turned off and the loss of fuel to that specific cylinder causes the rpm drop.If the plug is wet with fuel and number 1 didnt drop rpm's during the test,its most likely due to the number 1 injector being stuck open or leaking internally.This would cause excessive fuel to be dumped into the number 1 cylinder and that will cause all 3 issues youre having.It will also foul the plug and that too causes your issue.If the fuel doesnt get burned in that cylinder,it gets sent out the exhaust ports and loads the converter up with raw fuel.This scenerio can lead to the engine getting hot.If the plug is wet with coolant instead of fuel,a blown head gasket is usually responsible for the symptoms youre having.So if its fuel,look at the injector being the cause.If its coolant,look at the head gasket.A pressure test will usually confirm whether its a blown head gasket or not

Idle problem integra

check the MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure). The ECM (car computer) uses that to keep idle at minimum 750 RPM. It's normal for it to run high when cold. These small 4 banger motors typically run hot, and they won't run right IF they're NOT running hot, ergo the idle is usually high when it is cold so as to cause it to warm up quicker. If the RPM's drop below 750, suspect the MAP sensor, &/or ECM.

It runs rough sometimes it dies, I have tuned it up , plugs dist cap, wires rotor the computer , It has very poor gas milage .it has a 2300 with automatic trans,

have the intake gasket checked. spray carb/choke cleaner around intake gasket and if rpms change then you have a bad gasket which causes rough idle bad fuel econ

2001 v6 escape rough idle when cold

To update my earlier repair on the 2001 6 cyl Escape: When cold, and when the ignition was turned over but no accelerator pressure given, the rough idle finally returned the P0303 code again when the check engine light came on indicating that it wasn't caused by the plugs or the coil. FYI, I had replaced the intake manifold gaskets during the original repair and just prior to that I had replaced the fuel filter which was very dirty (I cut it open to see).

The repair manual referred to fuel injectors as a possible problem. I have run three tanks of fuel using different injector cleaning products and am very pleased with the results. Cold starts are much smoother and I am unable to coax out the P0303 code or any other code.

My opinion, change the fuel filter, use a fuel injector cleaner for a couple of tanks, change the plugs if the problem still exists. The coils were not the problem on my vehicle.

1999 Toyota Camry Idle Problems on Hot days

Clean the IAC. Disconnect throttle body air hose and you will see a hole on the bottom of the throttle body just before the butterfly valve. Spray throttle body cleaner down the IAC hole and then let it soak about 1/2 hour. Reconnect hose and run engine about a minute and then repeat this process 2 or more times. Toyota engines from 1997-2005 commonly have the IAC get cruded up with carbon as early as 35,000 miles. This is a sImple and cheap repair that many repair shops don't want you to know.
