I have A 1998 XK8. The radio will rarely switch on to demand but instead switches itself on a while into the journey. It sometimes switches off intermidently. I have noticed it will go off if we hit a bump in the road but this is not always the case. Any help very welcome. Thank you

Has someone worked on the car in that area? either way it sounds like a loose connection in the rear of the radio, or worse in the radio, so as most car fires are caused by defective radios i would suggest the radio is removed and checked for the fault

How do I reset the inertia switch on a 1999 jaguar xk8

I'm having a similar issue to the one described in this post:

http://www.2carpros.com/questions/jaguar-xj8-1998-jaguar-xj8-car-turns-over-then-stalls

However, I can not find an inertia switch. I have a 1998 Jaguar XK8 convertible. Does being a convertible make a difference in this switch's location?
I removed the passenger kick panel and also checked in the fuse box door on the dash at the passenger side. Thank you.

1998 XK8 stuck in park and will not budge. The brake lights are not working either. What do I do?

It's probably the brake switch on the brake pedal this controls both.

Cold morning driver door lock freeze

make sure the door handle on the outside has returned to normal position, sometimes the cold will make them stick. The door opens but the outside handle sticks open and the door won't latch. Hope this helps.

Side lights / tail lights / number plate lights / dash lights not working. all fuses and relays are good. JAG XK8

I would suspect the switch itself,or the wire from it ,as if it were a ground issue i do not expect it to effect the dash. You can usually check by the relay socket(on whatever lighting relay) on pin 1,whether you have 12v or not when you turn on the switch and a constant 12v on another,or fit a jumper lead from the constant 12v to the opposite side(4 pin relay)to test the circuit and operate the lights.

Hope this helps.
