My 1996 Audi A6 sat out overnight in -25 temps and started right up this morning. A can of soda in the car exploded and some slushy ice got on the ignition hole and froze over it. I scraped it off as best I could before putting the key in the ignition, it started earlier, but has now been in a heated garage for a few hours and wont start. Is it possible that it could be wet -- and that that is the reason it won't start??

best bet is to call a lock smith they can remove and repair the ignition all for arround 100 or go to the dealer and they will charge you 300 i only say this because it is a verry expensive fix if you make a misteak and break or bend or disconect the wrong piece

AC stops working when cabin temp reaches 109-110

indicates gas pressure and condenser cooling problems
check the condenser fan is working properly and have the gas pressures checked by gauges
check that the evaporator fins are clean and not blocked as ice build up will cause the same indications

I had the same thing with my 96 Audi A6 - what fixed it for me was placing a new ground strap between the engine block and the body. It appears the ends of the old cable were corroded.

Temp sensor

Coolant temp? Oil temp? Outside (ambient) air temp? Which sensor is the problem, and what year/engine is your A6? Can you give some specifics on what is going on that are leading you to feel that a temperature sensor is going bad?
