Sounds like the wiring to the relay is crossed to allow power to the pump at all times. The relay normally receives a signal from the computer to run the pump and pressure control cycles the pump as needed. I'm surprised that the battery is not being drained (but you may be driving often enough to keep the battery full charged). Someone had to have been poking around the block to make that change. This could be a dangerous situation if you ever had a fire around the engine. Hope the helps!

My fuel pump (2000 Camry 2.2) won't work sometimes. Changed fuse, replaced relay, changed pump. Still erratic. Is there a sensor that turn off pump when pressure is up? Or does it run continuously?

There are 2 fuses one is a 15 amp located in the under hood junction block and the other is marked "ign" in the interior fuse block it's a 5 amp. There are Two relays one is marked Fuel Pump and is located in junction block #2 the other I'm not sure the name maybe ignition or fuel injection anyway it's in JB1.

Where is the fuse for the fuel pump on 1991 chevey caprice classic?

Looking in the wrong place. Just off the battery junction block (like fuse/relay block) under the hood, there is a 20amp in-line fuse for the fuel pump and the ecm. Doesn't say exactly where, but look for a red wire coming off the junction block to this in-line fuse, then it turns into an orange wire going to the fuel pump relay.-this relay is also most likely under the hood.

2003 olds alero crank no start, thought it was passlock. by passed this, it almost starts with either. cycle the key and pump works but no pressure after that.

Make sure you're getting power to the fuel pump after start up. GM cars provide power to the electric fuel pump via the starting circuit when cranking and switch to alternator/battery power via the fuse block and 12v relay with ignition on in run position. Check your fuse block (bad fuse; power not getting to part of fuse block) and fuel pump relay. Could also be plugged fuel filter, bad pump or ?. but not likely because you get fuel while cranking. Check for error codes in the engine control computer (GM OBDII) as well but that probably won't show anything. Good luck and good hunting. I had a similar problem with a Chev Astro. Turned out to be power not getting to one bank of the fuse block because of a burned junction terminal buried behind the battery under the hood. Get out the multimeter and start looking for failed electrical components or broken wires.

On 2003 Ford F350 6.0 diesel where is the fuel pump relay?

Hello freefallcrus
The fuel pump relay for the 2003 f350, is an integral part of the central junction block(fuse box) located under the left side of the dash. So in order to replace the relay, you would have to replace the junction block. Hope this is helpful.

Where is the tail light fuse inside the fuse box inside the car? No lid for the diagram :(

The second junction block (No. 2) is found under the hood on the forward part of the left wheelhouse (driver's side). The fuses, fusible links and relays in this junction block generally control the engine and major electrical systems on the car, such as headlights (separate fuses for left and right), air conditioning, horns, fuel injection, ECM, and fans.

Your vehicle is equipped with two fuel pump relays. Both are located on the junction block which is located behind left end of dash. You will need to test both of them to ensure they are working properly. Let me know how they test out.

83 saab 900,car starts right up but dies like you turn off the switch? new fuel pump, filter

There's two fuel pumps, primary in the gas tank and a secondary pump under the car. Try using a jumper wire where the fuel pump relay plugs into to see if the relay is bad. Clean and adjust the airflow plate. Check for rust at the fuel distributor. And check for leaks in the plastic fuel lines from the fuel distributor to the injectors (wrap some paper towels around them and turn the key on to prime the system). Clean the terminals on the fuse panel and wiring harness junction blocks. Look here for more help http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/900/
