How do you replace a 2007 Honda Odyssey Tail Light

The passenger side Tail Light Assembly on my 2007 Honda Odyssey is broken and must be replaced. I have the replacement unit in hand but can't seem to figure out how to replace the old unit. How do you remove this assembly? Do you need to remove the entire plastic panel from the read door to get to the tail light assembly or can you just get to the screws to remove the assembly itself.

Yes, you have to remove the plastic panel. It is mostly held by spring clips. You can see how to remove it at the link below.

SOURCE: Replace Tail light assembly

Loosen ther interior plastic to gain access to the 2 hidden nuts. We use an articulated ratchet to get to the bolts, however. Not hard to do.

SOURCE: cannot remove tail light assembly

I had the HARDEST time with the lights...I never realized changing a bulb would be so difficult. Once you unscrew what you need to, go into the trunk and pull the lining away from the back part of the light. There are the white prongs that you will need to tap with a hammer until they pop out and then the light assembly will come out. Be careful though, I got a little too impatient and broke mine. I used a binding agent to hold it back in place though...GOOD LUCK!

SOURCE: How do you replace rear tail light assembly?

Open the trunk and along the bottom of the tail light, there should be a Philips screw securing a cover piece. (your car may or may not have this piece)
With the cover off, there will be another 2 screws securing the bottom of the tail light assembly. Remove the screws and pull the bottom out and the top is held in by two retainers that should just slide right out

SOURCE: can't remove 2007 nissan versa tail light assembly

You have to rip it out after removing the two 10 mm nuts, the catch at the front was not designed to let go until you bang it and cause the shade to break , stupidest thing I ever saw

I had the dealership address the rattling of the sliding passenger door on our 2002 Honda Odyssey. The removed the inner panel and adjusted the door striker which didn't stop the rattle. Any suggestions...

The sliding door has upper roller, lower roller, and center roller mechanisms. These rollers can become damaged and rattle in their respective tracks. The upper and lower rollers are easy to inspect, as they are at the front of the door (top and bottom) and in plain sight. But the center roller cannot be inspected until the center rail cover (an exterior narrow long panel) is removed.

To remove the center rail cover, first remove the tail light assembly on the affected side. (That procedure can be found by doing a fixya search for "2002 Honda Odyssey brake light replacement"). Now open the sliding door. Notice at the front of the rail cover there is a small bolt. Remove this bolt. Go to the back of the center rail cover and remove the two screws (only accessible when tail light assembly is removed). Then slide the center rail cover rearward to remove it. Now you will be able to inspect the center roller mechanism and door cables. Look carefully for damaged rollers which will let the door wobble in the center track and rattle.

How do these rollers get damaged? When kids climb onto the doors and "slide along". The door guide rollers and latches were not designed to carry much more weight than the door itself.

I need to replace the passenger side (tailgate) tail light assembly, but it won't come out after taking the 4 nuts out.

Remove 4 screws, and gently pry it off. It is held by a stick adhesive. You can place a rag over the painted body, and pry the light assembly off and it will come off. Just gently work your way pry around the entire light assembly and it will come off.

Removing rear light assembly on honda odyssey 2006

Yes, there is a "spear point" plastic clip that is still engaged into a socket type holder in the front outboard portion of the tail lamp assembly. Pry gently with a tape wrapped screwdriver at the front outboard corner of the assembly and the clip will release. You will then be able to see how the clip works and will be able to align and engage it first when replacing the tail lamp assembly.

2003 Honda Odyssey Brake light replacement

open the rear hatch. Between the tail light housing and the rear hatch opening there is a trim strip with two flush fitted flap doors. Insert a small straight blade screwdriver into the small slot on the tail light side of the flap. Pry gently inboard and the small flap will open (the hinge side of the flap is on the side of the rear hatch opening.) Now you can remove the screws that hold the tail lamp assembly in place. Finally, there is still a "spear point" clip that fits into a socket near the front outboard corner of the assembly. Gently pry with a tape wrapped screwdriver (avoids scratches) and force the assembly straight back. The clip should release and free the assembly so you can change the bulb(s).
