It sounds like you have a faulty switch. I would recommend that you change the wiper control switch. In order to do this, yoyu will need to remove the steering column cover, and the steering wheel. Remember to disconnect the battery when you are performing any work in a car that has a SRS-safety restraint system.
YOU CAN TAKE THEM OFF AND RESET THEM BY YOUR JUDGEMENT .TAKE THEM CUT ON THE WIPER WITHOUT THE BLADE,S ON THE WIPER IN PUT THEM IN THE POSTION THE WIPER ARE IN
Ur wiper motor has this return contact points in the mechanism and the contact is already eroded or dirty,
U could bring ur car to fix that problem, or u could do it by urself!
You have the wrong wiper blade installed, go to autozone or advance auto and show them they will get you the right blade. sounds like blade may be to long or wronge design.
Look for a blown fuse/bad relay. The wiper blades would not cause this problem. It's possible the motor lost power due to a broken internal wire, brush, or maybe a seized bearing. There is an auto-return switch mounted to the motor that may have failed. Good luck!
Check the crank arm on the wiper motor. There is a bracket under the crank arm that has a small upward part on it that the bottom of the crank arm is supposed to stop on when its shut off.
Put the wiper in the pulse position and turn the key on. let the wipers sweep one time then turn off the key.
Look under the crank arm to see where it stopped. It should be no farther than 5 mm from the bracket stop. The stop is often times bent or worn out. You will need to replace the crank arm and the bracket in most cases.
turn them off, take both sides off and point them to ste side where they go. you can do this with a wide flat screw driver. if you cant do it go to auto-zone and they will show you. the put my wiper blades one for me free.. good luck

Try taking the cover off the wiper motor under the hood. I found on my 98 suburban that the grease from the gear inside the gear cover had gotten between the contacts in the motor that allows it to return once it reaches limit in one direction. The wipers started back to working correctly immediately. My wife stated that she has experienced the same situation lately so it seems that more of the grease has gotten between the contacts.
When you purchase a wiper blade, the step-by-step instructions are included in the package. It will be a matter of carefully pulling up and out, then reverse the steps to install.
