How do i know what O2 sensors to order, there are several on my 2002 ford expedition V8/5.4ltr. engine? The diagnostic machine can no longer be used to tell which sensor is down due to my cigarette lighter not working (bad fuse I guess). My error code was previously read as 2 bad 02 sensors, but I cannot find the paperwork with the specific sensors causing the problem.

Hi, I work for Bosch and I run the line that makes the sensors. I have replaced the mine in a 2001 expedition. It's fairly easy, except the driver front. When you go buy your sensor, buy the aftermarket. It has been tested on the line just as the OEM and passed with the same test. The sensors have the exact same components inside the sensor. The auto store will tell you different and so will the shop. The only difference is: when we assemble the OEM, it usually has the OEM marked on it such as Ford, GM, VW and so on. It seems like a long paragraph but I want you and anyone else to understand. However the top of the sensor may look different than the OEM, but that has nothing to do with the function of it. We make what is called LSF which is what yours will probably take. It should have the # marked on it: 0258986602 big aftermarket. This is sold at Advance. Auto Zone. Trust me friend, there's no difference in the OEM and Aftermarket. I wish I knew this when I needed them. Also the OEM is $70-$140+. Aftermarket $35-50. The lighter should not have anything to do with having it checked. Go to Advance, have them do a free check and then buy you sensor while your there. Tip: you may know this but, usually the code for your keypad entry is located under the dash, below the steering wheel. It is usually on a white sticker. It don't state that it is your code but it should be 5 numbers, and this is the master code even if you have changed it to your personal code. Also the **** you here about, we can't make an extra key unless you have 2 extras at the dealership, that is bull. When I bought mine it came with one key and no key fob. I had 2 extra keys made and a fob programmed within 10 min. We have a guy here that is awesome. He does it for the dealerships around here. Sorry for the long paragraph, just want to pass on info for the people that need it.

Where is the bank 2 02 sensor on a 2003 3.0 ford tarusus?

Bank 2 o2 sensor 1 is on the back side of the engine. Simply follow the exhaust manifold nearest the firewall the first o2 is bank 2 o2 1 the next o2 will be bank 2 o2 2. The o2 you see by the radiator is bank 1 o2 1.

PO -133 O2 Sensor Slow Response

Po -- 153 same thing

Check for vacuum leaks --every where

Clean MAF Sensor -CRC MAF Cleaner

Replace the 2 --front O2 Sensors, if over
100,000 miles on them The ones closest to motor

Use the OEM Type not the cut & splice
universal junk

NAPA can order them
Should be Bosch or NGK

Codes do not tell you anything about what is wrong
or what to replace.

O2 sensers

common on all cars, trigger service engine lights on. most people don't realized O2 need to be replace every 50-75k miles as recommended. it does not hurt to drive it however you may see slightly change in your performance and gas mileage. it measure mixture of exhaust gas telling the computer its running too rich or to lean or could just be bad O2 sensor and the car is running fine.

My 2002 Expedition service engine light is on and it's misfiring

Sounds strange for all of that to be happening. The valve covers might need new gaskets. If you have a misfire, it could cause the O2 sensor to have a bad reading. Usually it's only 1 or 2 coils. (I would also replace the associated plug if they change a coil.) You could run it from there and if it doesn't clear up, then replace the O2 sensor at that point. Given the age of the car, getting the O2 sensor out may be a pain because it may be rusted/frozen in. Ford didn't believe in doing a good job putting anti-seize on the O2 sensor heads. Mine stripped when trying to replace an O2 sensor, so rather than have to replace a whole section of exhaust, I went to Midas and had them cut it out and weld in a new piece with a bung for the new O2 sensor.

2002 ford expedition "service engine soon" light keeps coming on. I've had the O2 sensor replaced three times in the past month, now the next day or two after the sensor replacement the light comes back...

get a new mechanic, need to check for vac. leaks, poss needs tune up. alot O2 codes i have gotten have been created by vacuum leak or warn out plugs, rarely have i had to replace a O2 sensor.

I have a 2006 expedition and it has o2 bank 1 and 2 codes. I was told that it may be mass air flow since both o2 sensor codes at same time. Can the sensor be cleaned and where is it?

mass flow sensor can be cleaned with mass flow cleaner, but the o2 can not be cleaned. I operate a line that makes oxygen sensors at Bosch. buy aftermarket, it's the same and has been tested the same.

02 sensors

the printout from Auto zone tells you that there is a probelm with fuel mixture control, this doesn't always mean the O2 sensors are defective, intake leaks and iother factors can give O2 codes, give me the code you have and i will let you know the most likely problem.
