6 disk CD changer in 2004 Chevy Suburban

The 6 disk CD changer in my 2004 Chevy Suburban won't work. The radio works fine, but it won't play, change, or eject any of the CD's in it.

I have the same problem. We took the CD player apart and the changer was not working properly. The "brain" was missing a cell. I believe it is history.

We found that the problem was quite simple. In the rear lift gate is a bunch of wires that connect to the radio and the lights. They were loose. My husband tightened and taped them and Voila!!! The cd changer worked!!!

We can't get the factory 6 disc cd player to load more than 1 disc. What is the sequence for loading additional discs?

The following is the owner's manual for your 2004 Dodge Neon:

http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html?year=2004&nameplate=Neon

P.99 describes how to load discs:

1. Select and press any numbered button without an illuminated light above it.
2. Insert the CD while the light above the chosen button is flashing and the two lights on either side of the slot are illuminated.
3. Upon insertion, the CD will begin to play, and both the button light and the lights in the corner of the loading slot will illuminate.
4. Repeat the process for loading any additional CDs. The CD playe rwill stop while additional CDs are loaded.

Playing Discs
The radio will show the CD number, the CD track number, and the Track Time Elapsed while the radio is in the CD mode. IF more than one CD is loaded in the changer, the changer will automatically play the next disc after playing the last track of the current disc.

Wow, that's a lot of typing.
I didn't know the 2004 Dodge Neon had such a nice changer.
Good luck.

My 6 cd changer has quit working

Try to disconnnect power to it so it will reset itself then try using a cd cleaning disc in it. If the problem still persists the unit is probably faulty. Cd changers was 90's technology it is time to step up to an MP3 source or music on a usb drive. You can store much more music.
