Have a 1996 4 x 4 Jeep Country with a snowplow. after 30 to 45 minutes of plowing the jeep stalls. it turns over but will not start again. After 1/2 to 1 hour later it will start. This has happened 4-6 times this year. Gas filter, wires, plugs, cap, rotor, and coil have been replaced and it has not corrected the problem.

You failed to mention which engine you have and what you are not getting when it stalls (no spark, no fuel? Neither?) Does the engine turn after it stalls? how does it run when not plowing after running the same length of time? Have you done any testing of components with either a scanner or multi-meter? If so, what are you seeing? There is a lot to do there before anyone can offer an opinion on what has failed!

We have a 1996 jeep cherokee country. it runs for 15-20 minutes then it dies. It will start right back up and go for another 15-20 minutes and die again. 4 people have looked at it, Not One knows what it...

Without being able to do any testing, I can tell you that the two primary causes of that problem are either a bad fuel pump or failing crank sensor (also sometimes cam sensor). You mentioned a sensor but not which one. When it stalls, turn the key on and listen at the tank to hear the pump.(best if someone else listens, as it shuts off when operating pressure is attained) If you cannot hear it likely it's binding when it gets hot. Another cruder method is to bang on the center of the tank and then see if it starts.

1996 jeep cherokee country i have fuel and spark engine turns over but still will not start.at one point i crank it for the longest time it started i warm it up then the next day it did the same thing...

When the jeep is cold, turn the key to the on position, without cranking the engine, to see if the check engine light is lit up, on the dashboard. If it is not lit up then the ecu is going bad, slowly dying. If no check engine light is on, leave the ignition turned to the on position for a while(may take up to 30 mins) and the check engine light should then come on and the jeep should start. If this turns out to be the problem with your jeep, then your ecu is in need of repair.

My jeep just turns over but wont start.when problem started i was driving and it just stalled . we got it to start back up after acouple of minutes drove about 1 mile and it stalled again.hasent fired back...

Replace the crank sensor-Jeeps are notorious for this, many TJ owners carry a spare. It is located on the driver side, and you can see it (push the hood all the way up so it rests against your front windshield for more room) and replace it from top or bottom, it's located by the top-left side of the bellhousing, between the engine and bellhousing. It is held in place by 2-11mm bolts, and has a harness that unplugs about 1 foot up from the sensor, very near the fuel rail. They run about $90, if you price around you can get one for close to $75.

I have a 1996 jeep country that shuts off while driving

some times ...even if you buy new wires ...it will still not run properly ....try and spray water on your wires at night with a trouble light ..to see if any spark is jumping ....if it is ..the wire that is jumping has a problem.... just because they are new doesn't mean they are good ...have had it happen to me ...i always buy life time wires ...more expensive ..but less headaches .....good luck ...

My 2005 jeep wrangler x overheats when running with snowplow

Is it an automatic trans? If you need to extend the plow outward from the jeep, for air to get threw. If it is a manual trans, then that would be the only solution.

1996 Jeep Country Wagon. Replaced fuel filter and

does your jeep run rough? idle is real low? and when you are driving and push the gas hard it doesnt want to move? if so it is most likely the mass air flow sensor. i had to replace that 2 or 3 times on my 1999 jeep cherokee

1996 jeep cherokee country

Sounds like the starter is going out. Autozone will check those for free. It's just 2 bolts mounting the thing. It's under the passenger side rear of the engine. Undo battery, those 2 bolts and keep track of which wires go where. Run down to Autozone for a check or a new starter.
