If you're having issues with removing the hood on your del Sol (which is simply 4, 10mm bolts), I advise you STOP and put the wrenches down. I'm not being mean here, I'm just simply saying that if you're not mechanically inclined enough to remove and reinstall 4 bolts, you're likely going to have SEVERE problems getting the alignment correct when you start to adjust the hood for closure.
It sounds like you have a dead battery. The trip odometer thing is simply your information center asking you if you want to reset your trip odometer. If you did not initiate this by pressing the information/reset button, then the low battery condition could have caused the information center to "default" to this part of the menu. (Computers tend to get delirious when they are suffering from malnutrition.)
It means your car needs an oil change, based on mileage. If you take your car to get the oil changed, they can reset the light for you. If you want the light off now, try holding in the odometer reset button, with the key on but engine off, until little dashes appear then one by one dissapear. This procedure may need to be done either on the odometer total mileage or trip A mileage or trip B mileage.
Step 1: Have car off.
Step 2: Push and hold in trip reset button.
Step 3: While still holding button in, turn key to ON, but engine off. Wait for the little dashes to appear and disapear. If it doesn't work on the odometer setting. before turning key off, switch to Trip A setting. If the procedure doesn't work on the odometer setting or Trip A, try Trip B setting.
Step 4: Turn key off. Then start car. Maint. required light should be off.
This means that your vehicle requires service. Something is wrong. You can take it to Autozone and they will put it on their diagnostic machine for free. And tell you what is wrong. Usually nothing major. Just needs to be checked out. PLEASE RATE by checking one of the 4 thumbs ups! Thanks! Have a GREAT DAY!!!
Make sure the car is in "off" position. Press and hold the odometer button. While pressing the button switch the starter to 'on' position. You will see 5 lines appearing on the odometer display. The lines will vanish one by one. Release the odometer button. Light will be off!!!!!
(Note: each line on the odometer display represents1000 miles. I5 lines mean 5000 miles, meaning that the light will be turning on after 5000 miles. To reduce the mileage to, lets say 3000 miles, realease the odometer button if 2 lines are vanisahed)
u need the trans repaired.
