I have a 2006 Mazda Tribute. Can you tell me what the recommended time is between lube and oil changes. Is it 3000 miles or 5000. Thanks

It used to be every 3 months or 3,000 miles but some manufacturers are suggesting that 5,000 miles is ok. My view is that it does not hurt the motor having more oil changes. I continue to have them done every 3,000 miles myself even if my oil life indicator has not come on. Clean oil is very important to have a engine last for many miles. There are some full synthetic oils that can go for 5,000 or 7,000 miles beteween oil changes but cost alot more than the standard oil.

How many miles should a driver go between oil changes?

Since the oil is more refined and filters are better these days (I would recommend Fram 3X or 6X filters), I go 5000 miles between changes. If your 2007 is up in the 80K-90K mileage range, you might want to look at the high-mileage oil as a substitute. You might also want to look at synthetic oil, which can stay in your engine even longer. As far as Jiffy lube or the dealership, not having used either, my best guess would be the Jiffy lube is faster and cheaper, but the dealership probably has better trained people doing the work and will check your car to make sure nothing else is wrong, while you are there.

My 2006 chevy hhr is in between oil changes and two courts low and time to change oil again.

First thing, don't let the manufacture tell you that you can 5000 to 6000 mile without an oil change.Next thing they want you to use oil that is much too thin. They don't want the engine to last too long because they can't sell you a new car that often.City driving you need to change your oil at least every 3000 mile and highway every 4000 mile. The biggest problem is having you oil changed at a quick change that uses BULK oil.If they don't offer oil from a jug, next time bring you own oil if you have to.Use 10w30 in the winter months and 10w40 in the Summer. It don't hurt to put in a can of STP after each change.

How often should I change my oil?

Most people change their oil every 3000-3500 miles. Alot of late model cars are recommended to change every 5000 miles. I would do it every 3000 miles for regular oil & every 5000 if you use synthetic oil.

How many miles between oil changes.

You should change your oil every 3000 miles. I have heard some people say 5000-7000, but trust me every 3000. I can't tell you how many times I rebuild an engine where the owner didn't change it every 3000, and the about of buildup is terrible. Hope this helps.

How many miles or time period between oil change is recommended for Acura 2006 MDX? Is synthetic oil recommended or required?

Depends on driving style. Dusty roads? Lot of stop and go? Lot of short trips under 5 miles? Then 3000 miles is a good interval. If it's all highway miles then you can stretch it to 5000 miles. Synthetic is always better because of it's resistance to breaking down and loosing it's lubrication abilities. Hope that helps. I'm not sure if it's required in that car.
