The TCS light will often come on with the service engine light - don't worry too much about it unless it comes back after you fix your fuel problem.
Get your diagnostic codes read and cleared and then check what they mean. I'm going to have a guess that you've got low fuel pressure though. This is generally caused by a faulty fuel pump, faulty wiring to the fuel pump or a poorly flowing fuel line system.
Your next step is probably to check your fuel pressure. If this is low, then you're getting closer to your problem.
Check your priming and main fuel pump runs when you first turn the key to the ON (but not the crank) position. It should make a very quite noise to build up pressure before you try to start the motor. If this doesn't happen, you should check the wiring to the pump isn't faulty. If the diagnostic code suggest a faulty fuel pump relay, you may need to replace it. If you can't find a wiring fault and you seem to be getting power TO the fuel pumps, it's probably time to pull the pump/s out, check it's DOA and replace it if necessary.
If your fuel pump and wiring are functioning correctly, you may have a clogged fuel system. Check the fuel lines - particularly the soft connecting lines - for blockages and collapsed sections.
Because manually pumping the system seems to work, I'm going to suggest you should start by looking at the diagnostic codes and checking the pumps and wiring rather than the fuel lines though.
Hope this helps, Sherwin

Glow plugs heat your engine/cylinders to allow a diesel engine to start more easily - they are similar to spark plugs in a petrol engine - however, they only operate when starting. I don't think this is likely to be the issue but it is definitely worth checking as well.

The glow plugs are located in screwed in fittings into the cylinder head.

    Hope this helps,
    Sherwin

Is there a fuel filtr on a 2004 mazda mpv

I've never found an accessable extenal one on our 2004 MPV [crazy, huh?] But we have the official factory technicians service ["workshop"] manual, purchased from Mazda & it lists 2 fuel filters - it shows both are in the gas tank; the low pressure appears to be the simple screen on the pump intake & the high pressure is in the outflow from the pump - apparently connected to, or just under, the "fuel pump unit cover."   So the answer is: both the "low pressure" screen & what I would call the "real" high-pressure filter are inside the gas tank.. Hope that helps

I was browsing unsolved problems. If you still have the problem, I'll try to help you. But it's going to be awhile trying to communicate back and forth. First...Check the engine for spark. Take off a plug wire and stick a screw driver in the wire end and place the metal part of the screw driver next to something on the van that's metal. Have someone crank it over for just a second or two and see if a small spark jumps from the screw driver to the metal part. I'll check back for your answer.

2004 mazda mpv

I don't have a solution to the problem, but Mazda should. I have replaced 3 different ignition coils in the last 3 months. I am spending more on repairs than I was in a car payment. Mazda has been no help at all!
