I have a 2002 Buick LeSabre Limited & with the heater in Auto mode, there is very warm air discharging at the floor on the passenger side, but cool air discharging on the driver side. This is the case even with recirculate selected. What's going on & how to fix it?

The handbook shows I have "Dual Automatic ComforTemp Climate Control" system. Also, the handbook says "...air flow sensors automatically adjust the airflow direction.....The system may direct cooler air to the side of the vehicle toward the sun." This is not my circumstance in variable direction driving now in the winter.

Well you have 2 or 3 door actuators. They are little electric motors in your HVAC system that flip doors open and close and change air direction(defrost to midlevel to floor)and how mutch air flows across the heater core, if any at all.The issue is that the drivers side is not working. The question is why.Could be the little motors,or the heater control unit. You may also have a HVAC programmer. You can see what the parts look like by going to rockauto.com. and looking up your aplication, look under (heater blend door, heater AC control) I see that there are a lot of parts all tied to the heater control.I will just say that I had the same issue on a 2004 Chevy 2500HD with duel climate controls.Duel sliders to adjust temp.Do not know which you have, but dealer said that the actuater were at faul and wanted a lot to replace them.I ended up just replacing the heater control and that fixed the problem. I found mine for under $100.I don't think you will be able to find anything cheep on yours.Well good luck and I hope I have shed some light on this, and hope others can steer you in the rite direction.

Your heater core has sprung a leak. This is about a 6 hour repair. Look for a reputible shop locally to do this. The part cost is roughly 80$

2001 buick lesabre-ac problems

  • Assumed your AC unit is OK, but uneven temperature distribution. Try to throw the heater on an off severtime. A sticky valve on the heater would cause similar problem.
  • Observe the RPM while parking your car. While the AC cut in cut out (or turn on an off). If it cause no load on the engine. The freon may be low or the compressor is bad. In this case only the intake side of the evaporator is cooler than the other side.

2002 Buick LeSabre Limited. Airconditioner cools

The dual air on this car has two temp control motors that are electronic. You need to have the car scaned at a dealer to see if it has a code for the left temp feed back circuit. If so you will need to replace the temp control motor for that side.Good Luck

Heater works on driver's side, cold air only on passenger side

The labor will be a few hours probably.....but it sounds like a step motor isn't working on passenger side(mode door not operating)

Air

If your A/C has a temperature control on the passenger door (dual zone): It may be set all the way to cold (end of the blue zone). If the driver's side is set to a warm temperature, that may explain the warm air from the vent.

If that's not the case, the a/c temperature mixer door on the driver's side may be stuck .
