I have a Sirius Stiletto 2 radio. How do I

I have a Sirius Stiletto 2 radio with a vehicle docking accessory. How do I connect to the F250 radio audio system using the "AUX" button on the radio cover near the MENU button? Is there a "line in" jack available under the radio cover or elsewhere to connect the Sirius radio to the truck audio system?

FRD04-AUX

  • Anonymous Dec 09, 2011

All ford radios from 2004 to 2011 come with a AUX button this is the rear dvd input, if there is no dvd in your ford vehicle you can use that port to install the auxiliary audio input adapter, you can add any audio source to the ford radio from dvd iPod mp3 iPhone the PIE FRD04-AUX don't work on ford radios with the SAT button

No sound on AM/FM but Sirius is fine

I would look at the antenna connections ... you will need to remove the unit from the dash to get to the back of the radio. [Google removal of that specific radio for your vehicle]. You may be able to get your hand up under some dash boards to reach the back of radio?

The antenna conception is typically a round coax conductor that goes to a plug into the back of the radio.

Try moving the plug around while radio is on ... if you get signal pull out connector and clean contacts with rubbing alcohol. Test again and reinstall.

Hope this helps!

Aftermarket Sirius tuners broadcast an FM frequency that you tune your radio to and receive the broadcast.

My 2008 ford focus sirius radio stopped working. sirius tried to reprogram, but it didn't work

Did Sirius resend a signal? If it is displaying their number it is likely that your subscription needs to be updated. The fact that it displays their info means it is likely receiving a signal. If it said "no tuner" or nothing at all, it would likely be the tuner. You can resend a signal online here:

If that does not work, replacement kits are available here:

1984 ford f250 inline 6 Have replaced battery, alternator, starter solenoid, starter, and voltage regulater, along with battery cables. Battery is being drained when the truck sits more than 15 hours....

If you don't have any idea what to check next, maybe now is the time to take the vehicle to an auto electric repair shop that specializes in tracing wires. You may have a short to ground somewhere, or an accessory, that is drawing current when the vehicle is off, to the point of making the battery go dead if sitting more than 15 hours.

One check that you could do yourself, with the proper tool, is to check the amps being drawn when the car is off. If the amps drawn is above .2 Amps, then it's too high of a draw. The symptoms you describe sound like it is more like 2 or 3 (or more) Amps being drawn on the battery.

Try to remove fuses to various accessories to see if that reduces the amp draw on the amp meter.
I would use an Amp meter that is inductive and has a claw that opens and surrounds the positive or negative battery cable and measures current without having to actually remove any cables from the battery, and connect in between the battery terminal and the battery cable.

Let's say, for instance, that it was an accessory like a radio that was drawing an inordinant amount of electrical current. Then, if you removed the radio fuse, the draw should go from 2 or 3 amps down to below 0.2 amps. So, that's what I would do to try to narrow down the possibilities.

Good luck on this repair.

I want to hook my IPod directly to the aux port of my radio and I want it to charge the iPod as well as play the music. Is there a cable that does both music input and power charging? I have a 2001 Tahoe...

You can get a Peripheral PXDX and connect it to you AUX port on the back of you radio. The interface can be tucked behind the dash with the docking cable being the only part hanging out-to connect your ipod to. You can change songs from your radio control head-or steering wheel controls-if your vehicle has them. The docking station charges your Ipod while it's connected. Peripheral has a website you can read about the interfaces. They are available on ebay for under $100. I have the interface in two of my vehicles. The only problem is, you can't see which track is playing on your radio, but you are able to skip through tracks either by Ipod control or radio head.
