Stuck in Valet Mode in Jaguar XJ8-L. Use your Valet key in the trunk key lock - it is located above the rear license plate slightly right of center where the license plate bulbs are located. Turn the Valet key to the right. Voila you are out of Valet mode. This took me months to figure out and is the only thing that worked.

Can't get into trunk to jump start car. Remote or key won't open trunk

Check your owners manual, there is usually a manual cable inside of the vehicle to release the trunk for just such an instance.

How do I access trunk entry into my 2004 Jaguar xj8 when now it has gone into valet lockout?

I believe that this is to protect valuables left in the boot when parking the vehicle. I read here that there is access some where in/ near the glove box but I cannot remember exactly what it was . Surf the net under Jaguar valet problems and you may get the answer.

Jaguar xj8 boot wont open

Just bought my 98 a week ago....from what I can figure out....the valet mode disables the inside button....until the trunk is opened by the key. From what I understand also....there is a valet key....and an owner key. (I saw the differences online this week) which also ties in with valet mode.
