Not likely an electrical problem newer speedos like your car are controlled by electricity but if it stays there after your car is off and or reads the right speeds past 20mph then not likely electrical. likely a chunk of something fell inside and is just jamming it there have to take it apart and rip it out unless your lucky enough for it to rattle out somehow, could always give it a good punch and hope it shakes out.

This is in the speedometer unit itself. either purchase a known good part from an auto recycler or people still rebuild these. on these, they are individual little motors inside and they will probably just replace the speedo motor and reseal it. unfortunately you can not purchase these parts yourself.

My 2001 Audi A4 1.8T starts slipping in the first gear. It takes a lot of time to move in the first gear and Once it reaches 20mph, it runs good. Any solution for this problem?

Hi John:
I'd suggest that considering the age of the vehicle it would be appropriate to bring it to a transmission shop for servicing.

Why does my car have trouble switching gears?

P0730 is your problem code for incorrect gear ratio, this is usually due to a bad clutch pack in the transmission, meaning it needs rebuilt or get a remanufactured one.

Car wants to start but dials will not move

cranks but does not start and stay running.
dials.??
My guess, is dials is tachometer, RPM, that is correct. all engines
that do not start, have 0 RPM.
there are 100s of steps , if unlucky. (burned engine valves?)
ill post 3 of them.
1: check all fuses. in both fuse boxes.
2: check spark.
3: get a 60k miles tuneup , as stated in the operators manual.

Speedodometer not working.

There is a cable that runs from the back of your speedometer and screws onto the transmission. It has either been cut (unlikey), pulled from the back of your speedometer or came undone from the transmission. It should be a relatively simple fix.

When driving, Speedodometer drops to zero.

I thought this year of Santa Fe had a 100k Warranty? If so, take it to the dealer and get it fixed. Even if it's not under warranty, take it and get it fixed! This is dangerous to use with the cruise control!! Do not use the Cruise Control until you get this fixed. It sounds like a bad speedomoter sensor, and that is confusing the Cruise Control. Either your speedometer is going to stop working altogether, or your going to RAM someone from behind going at a DANGEROUS rate of speed. Take it and get it fixed, and do not use the Cruise Control until it is fixed.

sounds like you have low brake fluid pressure and the pressure sensor is turning on warning lights saying there is low pressure and also pedal going to floor indicate this, sounds like master brake cylinder is worn out/broke and needs replace ment
