I have a 1998 Volvo C70 turbo coupe that has Steam blowing through the heater vents and antifreeze smell inside the cabin of the car but no evidence of leaking water inside the car. does that meen a heater core problem or something else. I am very mechanical and have all the tools I would need, is this somthing I could fix myself?
You have a slight leak from one of the hose connections going to the heater core.Yes you can do it yourself.Check it out.
As you say you are very mechanic i just hope you have the appropriate skills to take your chances. I am a graduated from mechanic school and I suggest that if you don't have the qualification just go to a mechanic but if you feel confident to try it i'm suggesting you buy a Chilton's repair manual and just follow the instructions by the letter. I trust that once you have this repair manual in your hands with all the tools you say you have i'm sure you will be able to repair most problems with your vehicle and save thousands of dollars.Go ahead and get yourself the repair manual and I mean pronto (asap) lol!
