My husband turned off our Chevy Trailblazer without putting it in gear and now it won''t start and the gear shift is lock up. What do you do to fix it????

First make sure battery isn't dead because if he cut it off in gear then the switch couldn't cut the power off and it'll run the battery down and there is a electrical solenoid that allows the shifter to move if theres no voltage than the shifter want go into park and the ignition switch want turn off.

Well if it was in gear when you turned it off try putting your foot on the brake pedal putting in a park and turn the ignition off
