It is possible to have fuel at the rail and none at the injectors if the crank sensor has failed. (injectors will not open) Only way to know for sure is by testing it. Instructions for tests can be found in either chilton or haynes manuals.Tests for cps is that using a multi-meter set to ohms, there should be no continuity between b&c terminals of that sensor. (reading on meter should be the same connected as when disconnected) Most are mounted at about 11 o'clock on the drivers side of the bellhousing.
Computer/engine management problems involve numerous items which all need to be tested in order to make a good diagnosis...that includes relays, fuses etc as well.

1999 lexus gs300 wont start

What EXACTLY does it do when you turn the key? This will give clues as to where the problem could be.
A slow sluggish crank suggests a low battery charge or an old weak battery. In general any battery over 5 years old is considered 'Old' especially if the vehicle is used a lot.
Just spinning could be a Spark issue and spinning, catching and immediately stalling out could be a fuel supply problem.

My car seems to be starving for gas

Yes you may replace your fuel filter and check for the adjustment of the carburetor float level. Try also cleaning the whole carb specially the metering orifice and other small passages.

My 1989 RS Camaro has been sitting for 2 weeks because it was overheating and I had to order a part for the fan-radiator mounting .The car will now not start, like it is starving for fuel,I hope it is not...

A fuse will blow for 2 reasons . 1) If the device has a Short in the circuit that runs through this fuse. 2) If the device draws more amperage from the power source through the fuse than the fuse will handle. ex. if a fuel pump or starter has a 20 amp fuse and the starter/fuel pump is going bad and draws 30 amps it will blow the fuse. A fuel pump on a 1996 vehicle is located in the fuel tank and is kept cool by the surrounding gas and the gas that flows through it. Overheating a fuel pump is virtually impossible. That being said there is a High probability that replacing the fuel pump and relay will fix this problem. It is quite common for this to occur in the GM vehicle of 1996. When the pump starts to fail, it draws an excessive amount of amperage and would blow the fuse. Hope you find this information useful.

Truck acts like it is running out of gas? Replaced fuel filter. Ran fine for awhile but now still acts like it is starving for fuel.

my '93 f-250 (4.9L) stopped running while driving, now it acts like it isn't getting any fuel. Tried switching tanks, but still does the same. What would be the problem.

2000 mercury villager wont start

Check your inertia switch. This is usually located in the rear interior of the vehicle. It has a reset switch you hold for 3 seconds. It is a safety switch to kill the fuelpump in an accident. Can trip with door closings.

2001 Jaguar S-type won't start

Check if your transmission really is in park. I once had the same problem and it was fixed by moving the stick in and out of the park stand for a couple of times. Then the red light illuminating the "P" came on and i could start again.

Has to do with the transmission cable that tends to get a bit loose.
