I have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra. When I turn on my headlights, the wipers also turn on, even though they are on another control. The wipers work properly if I don't turn on the headlights. I was told by a friend that they had heard of this problem being caused by a relay switch.

Yes it can be a relay but the only way to know is to know what to look for - i would find a good place and ask for an estimate or just live with it -

2001 hyundai elantra-winshield wipers not working and it is not the fuse under the dash. could it be the fuse relay under the hood?

It could definately be the wiper relay, and it could also be the wiper motor. If you put a long screw driver on the relay and have someone turn the wipers on with the key on, you should be able to hear the relay clicking as it opens and closes. Sometimes you can put your finger on the relay and feel the relay switching. If you can hear/feel the relay then the next step is the wiper motor. Hope this helps.

Radiator leaking and overheated. We replaced the radiator thermostat but now the car will not turn over and start. We are thinking sensors need to be reset and head gasket needs to be replaced.

01 Hyundai Elantra - Cruise Control Doesn't Work w/ Headlights On

I had same problem (cruise control/dashboard lights) for the past month with my 2000 Elantra. Replace the tail lights bulbs - my problem was caused by a problem with the double filament within the bulb. Essententially, there was a short when I turned on the lights or hit the brakes.

I did this last night and everything is working properly now.

Which fuse controls the low beam headlights on a 2001 hundai elantra.

A fuse DOES NOT control the low beam headlights... a RELAY does.
