Apparently the lit lamda warning light means there is a problem with the emissions system, indicating that the engine management system is no longer able to control the fuel mixture. It means you need to take your Volvo in for service.
Did you replace it or someone else ? On newer vehicles always power up system with external power supply before disconnecting the battery ! You mite need to take it to the dealer for a reprogramming ! Battery Disconnect or Replacement Problems
no one on here will know unless he or she worked at a Fiat dealer !
the emission warning little is being set off be something that is not working properly-for instance the egr valve not functioning -so whatever is wrong will reset a code or in this case a warning light even if you could clear it-to try making it go out unhook the battery for 2 hours-cheers Denny
my volvo car dose want to start when i want to switch on the say( ANTI-SKID TEMPORARILY OFF) and all light right hand said coming red and left hand said coming yello.
It is sort of like the check engine light for the 2000 Volvo S40 and other Volvo Models. One of your sensors has most likely failed. You will need to connect and electronic tester to get the code to determine which component is faulty. Thanks for using Fixya.
Yes switch is the problem. Volvo claim they sell very few switches, probably because people bought new cars instead. Problem can be associated with failed ignition coils (2 of) but one does not cause the other but very confusing. Engine fails intermittently or conks out.
Reset battery earth connection on chassis bad design here. Clean off paint and thread also bolt coating. Even better, use brass bolt but do not overtighten. Volvo will try to get you to replace alternator which is not necessary.
Failing battery will light up all the warning lights but will not isolate the battery so if it shorts car will die and not run on alternator. If this happens disconnect battery until you get to garage.
Now you know you can buy an old S40 with confidence great car and very cheap for what you get.
Sounds like your dealer is feeling its way. which sensor did they say they changed and why. Do not pay for this ****, you took it to the dealer with a warning light and they say they changed something in order to attempt to cure the warning but they failed. About as much use as changing the seat covers and emptying the ash trays! When you say noise, is this a squeal, a crunch, is it continuous or is it during change gear. Does the car slip when in gear, is there vibration.
Check your engine oil and transmission oil levels
The remote receiver unit is located in the rear view mirror. This may be faulty. Since the car is new (less than a year?) you still may have the factory warranty.
It is the orange engine management warning light. It means that there is a problem, fault or parts that requires cleaning somewhere in your engine or parts that are connected to it.
did the sevice light come on before you serviced it? when you "serviced" it I assume you changed the oil and now need the service light reset.
I bought the 1998 S70. it got time to change the oil. Being how I am I changed the oil myself. I had to call dealership about resetting the service light.
they said $29.96.
I said 29.95?!!! how much if YOU would have changed my oil and reset the light?
they said $29.95.
so I learned you need to access the OBDII to reset the light.after service. hope this helps.
