Fuse #14 is the deactivator switch for the Cruise control.

Unlike the 199-2003 MY, where there is a cruise control switch, that operates the servo. The 2004-2008 do not have the servo, due to throttle by wire operation.
The Cruise control is activated, and the PCM operated the Throttle control motor, and the feed back is the TPS ( throttle Position Sensor ).

If the Cruise Control is no longer working, could be the switches or the wiring to the switches.

Do the horns and the other wheel controls ( i.e. radio if installed ) ?

Thinking problem with the clock spring.

Recall 05S28 for the Speed Control Deactivation Switch is not applicable to the 2004 + MY trucks ( unless it is a 2004 heritage or lightning ), no need to worry about that. Engine size does not matter for the Cruise Control, it is only applicable to the Throttle motor and position configuration, still throttle by wire on all engine sizes.

Just thought of something. Did you change the CHMSL ( Center High Mount Stop Lamp ) to a LED one ( like Recon, etc ) ?

If you did this, and do not have the load resistor installed ( or installed correctly ) the cruise control will not work. The system checks to make sure you have brake lamps, prior to allowing the CC to be set. Without the load resistor, the brake lamp to the truck appears to be out.

Sorry it took so long for this to come to the top in my mind.

SOURCE: cruise control will not come on im not sure if

There is a fuse layout in the owner's manual... and on the fuse box lid.

Are you certain it is #20 - and not a 20A fuse?

It is either 15A (blue) or 20A (yellow)

Without a diagram - you can verify all of them quite easily with a simple $4 test lamp from the parts store.

With the key in the ON position test for voltage at both sides of each fuse.
Whichever fuse does not light on both tabs is a bad fuse.
You could have them all tested in 2 minutes.

Thanks!!

SOURCE: Looked for 2004 Envoy Cruise

There are four fuses that can affect the cruise control. In the underhood fuse panel, fuses #12 & 22, and in the rear fuse panel, fuses #34 & 39.
There are other things that can stop the CC from working, stuck brake light switch, bad vehicle speed sensor, certain fault codes set by the computer, to name a few.

SOURCE: I have a 1994 mercury grand marquis. The cruise

Hi Debbie,

First I think it should be said that whatever is wrong with your cruise control it is definitely NOT caused by a fuse. Fuses do not cause electrical circuits to fail. Failing electrical circuits case fuses to blow.

With that said, there are 2 fuses that affect your cruise control operation:
Fuse #6 (10 Amp) and Fuse #7 (15 Amp), both of which are located in the instrument panel fuse block. Fuse #6 is the power feed to the cruise control servo and Fuse #7 is the brake lamp fuse, which provides power to let the cruise control servo know when you have applied the brake.

There are a number of fuses that cover tow features. Cruise Control has a number of items that control it. you probably need an auto electrician to diagnose and fix. Ideas in the link though.

The speed control light does not come on and the speed control does not work.

Fuse number 1 (15amp blue fuse) located under the dash is the primary fuse for the cruise control servo...check that first...Also, if i recall correctly there was a mandatory recall notice issued in 2005 for this model related to cruise control failures. Check with your local Lincoln Mercury dealer for more information. You will need your VIN number to see if the repairs on your vehicle have been made. Good luck, i hope this helps.

Where is the cruise control fuse in a 2004 chevy trailblazer?

Gotta tell you, this question had me a little confused. Below are 2 wiring diagrams for you. One is for the cruise control circuit and the other is for the air conditioning circuit. The reason I gave you those is because it seems according to the wiring diagram in the cruise control that the fuse for the cruise control goes to the HVAC (air conditioning). According to the wiring diagram for the A/C yes that fuse also controls the ignition power for the A/C controller. In any case the fuse that would cover the cruise control is the number 30 fuse in the fuse panel located under the hood of the vehicle. Below is a picture of the location of the fuse panel and also fuse layout diagrams for the 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder engine vehicles as they have different layouts depending on the engine size. I hope this helps you and good luck.

Cruise control

Here's the situation, there was a factory recall on the cruise control module for Explorers and Expeditions during recent years and your vehicle may be included. This is very important because in some vehicles this faulty cruise control module sparked and caught on fire. Here's what you do, call the Ford dealer in your area(service) with the vin number to your vehicle, they will tell you if your vehicle was under this factory recall and if it is they will replace it for free. I would be very careful as you may have one of these faulty modules. Hope this helped.
