Bmw 325tds 1995 e36. fuel starvation, erratic idling on starting, diesel seems to be flowing back to tank when parked overnight.noticed pipe going from vacuum line to top of fuel filter. is the problem with the vacuum pump/non return valve? have replaced heater plugs. no problem with car running once started.
Usual problem ,valves in injector worn for the fuel pump.easy quick fix this one ,fit a non return valve in the inlet pipe, check flow direction on valve when fitting and evan better as well is another in the bleed off return pipe .valves available from a motor factor or a specialist garage like bosch or lucas ,cut pipe and fit the valve with a piece of rubber pipe to connect the valve in line.or listen to the people who want to milk the golden cow and have the whole injector pump overhauled .
Is there a non return valve in the fuel level sensor on the left side "in tank" ? The feed pump takes fuel from both right and left side of the fueltank. On the left side there should be a valve to make sure the feed pump doesn't just pump fuel from the right side to the left side. Am i totally wrong?
no one feed and one return only ,check the rubber connection pipes while your under their as they can go porous if ok then plan A f it aftermarket valves
Alicntecoli, where do you suggest i have to fit the return valve? before the fuel filter strainer or after?
thanks!
as close to the injector pump as possible
