Does my 2001 S type 3 litre Jaguar have Timing

It has a timing chain...NOT a belt.

there is no belt, it a timing chain so no need to replace.

These are chain driven. The only issue I have seen with these are the chain tensioners breaking. Generaly with chain driven engines, the chain will last the life of the vehicle, unless something like the tensioner or guide brakes. If it does break repairs can be fairly expensive.

All 2lt and 2.2 diesels are chain driven, change the oil reguarly D

There is no belt, its chains! No need for replacement.

Timing chain broke on v8, 3.2 2001, will the piston hit the valves,and damage the pistons?

i have a 2001 s type 3.0 l it has a timing chain not a belt are you talking about the aux drive belt which drives the alternator ,coolant pump,aircon,steering pump
