I just bought a 2000 Mercury Cougar. The wipers

remove the wiper motor and clean/spray oil...the grease inside is hard already.

my cougar did the same thing when i changed the alternator on my 2000 cougar.. the car has an inline fuse located on the motor under a lil box with 2 bolts. that fuse will stop the car from getting a charge. i payed 3 people to try to fix it and they couldnt... i looked at it and found the inline fuse right away and as soon as i changed the fuse my car was taking charge.. hope this helps

you might have a burned fuse

check fuses. both wipers use a different fuse. If you hear noise when you turn on the wipers but they wont work, it usually means that your wiper mecheanism has come off the motor or the motor needs to be replaced

this is usually going to be a problem in the on/off/inter switch, which will require replacing switch

check the fuses if they are ok then the wiper motor could be bad check out all of the wires first give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fail stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your car wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

ONE AGAIN A 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT IS YOUR BEST FRIEND USE IT TO CHECK FUSES. ASK THE CAR PART STORE GUY HOW TO USE IT . ITS REAL EASY TO DO

you may need to use a high octane gas to clean your injectors and replace the inline gas filter as this should cure the problem. On the wiper blades that is more than likeley the relay switch that is connected to them it should be located near the firewall on the driverside.

first check all panel and underhood fuses and if all o.k you need a multifunction switch which operates all of mentioned componants.

check ALL fuses..check the wire connections at the wiper motor..un plug then plug in .the way to test the motor is to get some speaker wire (stop laughing) go from the battery to motor to by pass the switch .
