The Steering shaft is encountering some sort of interference with the wiring harness along the Steering Column......Look under the dash at the Steering Column and make sure all harness plugs are pushed into the connectors tight.....Make sure any harnesses are not rubbing on the rotating Steering Shaft....If Tilt Column, Drive with the Tilt function in the Straight Position...The only time Column should be Tilted is when Entering or Exiting the vehicle.....Be sure to disconnect the Negative Battery Cable when working with any wiring harnesses.....
Hi Allison:
If the work was done in a shop I would bring it back and review the problems with the service manager. Usually they are really good about getting it done right, without additional cost.
If this was a "home" job, there could be several different problems.
I'd be jacking it up and checking that there is no slack in the bearing installation. I'd also be looking for any reason that one brake would drag or slide. To exaggerate, if one rotor is greasy, and another one scored, braking will be different and the wheel will jerk.
Here's a fun way to check.
Find a large vacant space like an empty parking lot.
At about 10 kmp, very lightly hold the steering wheel, and sharply hit the brakes. Depending on how much fun you are having you can try it a bit faster. The steering wheel will sharply turn to the side that is getting the most braking force.
It won't take long to track down the problem.
Hope this helps.
Be safe.
Fix them ......... soon.
could be a bad power steering pressure sensor . This sensor inputs a signal to the PCM - engine computer when low speed an higher load on the engine ,such as turning , in return the PCM is suppose to raise the idle so it won't stall .
if you are turning sharply the wheels are hitting the stops making a loud whirring almost squealing because the system will try to turn further but cannot due to the stops it is normal but a power steering flush would help prevent issues
