Hello, my 2006 Cobalt SS (not the Supercharger), keeps making a "clicking" noise when i accelerate, at 20,40,60....and when i am on the Highway, the same noise coming from under my driver seat,is it a broken heat shield or my transmission???

We can rule out the tire and rim since it blanced with no issues and I'm assuming no wobble was found during the balancing procedure. Rotors were turned, so we can factor this out also. The only component that can not be ruled out is the bearing, it seems fine, but we need to know that it is fine. Has the vehicle been jacked up and supported, placed in gear to see if the noise happens when the wheels are not touching the ground?
Hello fowlerfour. I suspect the noise you are describing is a bad wheel bearing. It consists of a hub assembly that is relatively easy to replace. It takes about an hour or less to do with proper tools in a good repair shop. I would also suggest you get a quality hub as the cheap ones do not last long. If it as loud as you describe I strongly suggest you get it repaired as soon as possible. If you have another question for me leave a comment and I will respond to it.
The Cobalt’s LS, LT and LTZ
sedan share a 2.2-litre Ecotec inline four-cylinder. The SS uses the
2.4-litre, while the SS Supercharged coupe carries a 2.0-litre Ecotec
with supercharger.
The air filter change is a real pain.
Remove driver side tire.
Remove driver side wheel well.
You will see the filter canister in the front of the wheel well.
I had a mechanic do it for me and it took him 1.5 hours. If you plan to do it yourself, be sure you have plenty of time and alot of patience.
