My ford v10 engines hesitates under load. It

My 2000 ford v10 engines hesitates or surges under load. It starts up and runs smooth and goes down a flat road fine with no problems, but as soon as you go up a hill it starts to buck or surge under the added load.It goes away when you push farther down on the accelerator. I had all spark plugs replaced and that didn't help it at all. also had a computer hooked up but no codes.
thanks john

I haven't noticed it blowing any black smoke under load. I had a lot of things checked out on this and it has my mechanic stumped, and he's a big ford guy. He has checked all the coils and fuel injectors and they are operating properly. When I first took this to him he did get a code for a misfire on the back two cylinders. He replaced the plugs and the code went away but the car still hesitates under load. So then he replaced the coil on the back two cylinders where the code originally came from but the hesitation still remained there. He then checked the fuel injectors and we are still looking for the problem.

Sounds like you are getting too much fuel to the cylinders. Does it blow black smoke under a load? It could be the throtle position sensor, but that should have showed up on the scan.

Took fuel pressure it was around 34psi.Cleaned throttle plate and changed the fuel filter. It didn't fix the whole problem so I changed the fuel pump. It runs like a beast now.

2000 ford excursion v10 driving down the road

Honestly you should send it into the dealer. I don't think guessing will help you. Typically it is a dirty connection into the steering column (behind the ignition key) But diagnostics need to be run and a look at the VSS system (through a good scan tool) is needed to confirm.

have you cleaned the throttle plate? this is done by removing air intake hose and spraying out with cleaner and wiping it down open throttle and wipe off the butterfly and bore. this will usually cure a stumble.
