Built in the gas tank. It is cleanable. Don't have to buy a new one.
It is built into the pump so if it would have to be replaced then you
would have to replace the whole pump. To me thats pretty crappy design.
Crawl under the truck, you should have two or three lines coming off the fuel tank, one will have the filter, one is the return, and one is emissions.
Its actually inside your fuel tank if you do this yourself beware that this procedure is very dangerous because fuel fumes are extremely dangerous! and can ignite easily if sparked

a fuel filter will never cause a no start, to see if you have no fuel causing this get a can of spray starter fluid from the parts store and spray it into the air intake hose to the engine, if the truck starts you need a new fuel pump.

i have worked on many Frontiers!!! the filter on the 2.4 and up is under the inside rail on the passenger side under the door look you will find it i found it from original rusted holding clamp and all the cop out of its in the fuel TANK IS FROM THE PAST!!
