You should not have to reset the key fob after a battery replacement. The signal from the key fob stays the same and is programed to the reciever.
If the key fob needs to be reprogrammed then follow these steps.
1. Have all key fobs with you during programming.
2. Sit in the vehicle with all doors closed.
3. Lock all doors using the Lock/Unlock switch on the door.
4. Insert and withdraw the ignition key 7 to 9 times within 10 seconds (do not turn the key, just insert and withdraw).
5. The 4 way flasher indicator on the dash should flash once or twice.
6. Insert the ignition key and turn it on (key on, engine off).
7. Press any button on one remote and the 4 way flasher indicator on the dash should flash once.
8. If you have more key fobs to program use the Lock/Unlock button on the door to unlock the doors and then lock the doors.
9. Press any button on the next key fob and the 4 way flasher indicator on the dash should flash once.
10. Repeat if you have more key fobs. Only 5 can be programmed.
11. To exit, simply turn of the igniton and remove the ignition key.
12. Unlock the doors using the Lock/Unlock switch on the door and exit the vehicle.
13. Make sure the window is down when testing remotes in case you leave the keys inside.
14. Close all doors and test all remotes that were programmed.

Do not skip any steps or the process will not work.

If the 4 way flasher indicator does not work when inserting the key, you will need to start the process from the begining. If it still does not work the receiver may be your problem.

If the 4 way flasher indicator does not flash when pressing any button on the key fob then the key fob is the problem (dead battery or defective remote)

SOURCE: Key Fob battery replacement

CR1632 is the battery you need for your key fob. A small paperclip inserted into the hole on the side of the fob with a bit of force will open the panel on the back. Make sure your car is closed and then you press unlock 5 times to synch it with your car again.

SOURCE: i need to reset my peugeot 406 key fob

check the obvious first beacuse this doesnt really seem llike a problem with the key , if the key needs resetting you will not be able to start the car with that key. has the battery in the key fob
been low or been replaced recently

, make sure all the doors are properly shut includind the bootlid , as most modern cars cenral locking systems does the lock unlock if a door is only partially shut,
resetting a key is not a diy job . the key needs to go to a locksmith or peugeot dealer .

let us know how you get on

Proton s16 key fob doesn't turn the ignition over after replacing the battery in the key fob

For your remote key fob to work properly, it has to be connected to a receiver in the vehicle. When the battery in the fob is replaced, it can sometimes interfere with the paired connection between key and car, in which case you'll need to reset it.

I have a 2006 Jeep grand Cherokee my key fob alarm stopped working put a new battery in it what else can I do

The key fob will need to be reprogrammed to the vehicle since when the battery was replaced in the key fob, the key was reset. This is why nothing is working with the key fob. After replacing the battery in the key fob remote, you will need to reprogram the remote to the vehicle

CL220, fob wont open doors I can't get in the car, does this mean the battery is flat?

battery may be flat in the fob or the vehicle has forgotten the code for the fob. and will need resetting. change the battery use the key to open the door put key in the ignition. ( fob Ir old type leave fob off the key) turn to number 2 and press fob till doors lock and unlock. then its reset. dont be worried if the alarm goes off while doing this it will go off when the code is restored. if you have 2 fobs you will need to rest that one to.

Fob key wont work just replaced battery in fob and keys wont lock manually either, car has been standing for awhile.

Key fobs can be tricking and even something as simple as changing the battery can cause some issues. The good news is there are a few tricks to try before you panic.

1) The old car battery reset trick
I know this sounds absurd, but it works sometimes and is worth trying. If you exhausted all of the options above, disconnect bot terminals on your car battery for 10 minutes. Then reconnect them and try your key fob. This has worked for many people and I have no idea why. If you do, please comment below to explain.

2) Get it checked
Go to your local hardware store like AutoZone or Oreilly's. They usually have a RF frequency tester. This little gadget will let you know if your key fob is sending a signal. If it is, you may need to reprogram your key fob to your vehicle

3) Make sure the battery in the key fob is installed correctl
Try turning the battery upside down. If you have the positive end on the negative terminal it is not going to work.

Hopefully one of these tips will get the key fob working again. If not you can always purchase a replacement key fob online from

How do i get my immobiliser/fob key to work

three things may be the problem.

1 the battery in the key fob needs replacement,

2 the control fob is damaged and the key needs replacment

3. the key is no longer linked to the car. and need to be reset by dealer.

in each case it is better to go to Honda and ask them to look at this issue.

I hope this was useful.

My key fob is not working. Is there a way to reset the key fob? I have replaced the battery thinking that may be the problem.

There are quite a few reasons a key fob might stop working, I just wish I could tell you what they are :)

I can tell you there are some tricks to getting a key fob to work again.

1) Change the battery
I know you stated you tried this, but make sure you installed the battery correctly. Batteries don't last forever, you'll be surprised how often it's just a dead battery! Click here for a video on how to open a GM key fob, or search our YouTube channel on how to change a battery for your specific year, make, and model!

2) Wipe the board
The board inside your remote can get a lot more filthy than you think! When the board is dirty it can prohibit the contact to the circuit board when you push down on the button. Simply wiping the circuit board off can make your key fob like new again!

3) The old car battery reset trick
I know this sounds absurd, but it works sometimes and is worth trying. If you exhausted all of the options above, disconnect bot terminals on your car battery for 10 minutes. Then reconnect them and try your key fob. This has worked for many people and I have no idea why. If you do, please comment below to explain.

4)New fob!
It might be time for a new key fob! No need to dread over the expensive costs of a new key fob, at Keyless Entry Remote Fob Inc., you can get a refurbished one for a very affordable price! You won't even be able to tell the difference. Just search your vehicle make, model, and year to find your key fob or give us a call at 402-671-5100.
