I have a 2003 2500 suburban, cloth seats, and the drivers seat needs to be replaced. The original seats were not heated and did not have airbags. I just purchased a pair of 2004 yukon power leather seats with side air bags and was wondering how hard it would be hook up the air bags and/or heat for the seats.

Look under the carpet and see if the plug is are there, even though your truck didnt have them all the wiring should be there, you will have to get a new dash control as well, go to a scrap yard and locate one. again the wiring should already be there as well as the fuse setup.

Swapped seats but heat not working - f56 mini cooper s

Are the connectors actually wired the same? Check the wiring diagrams for each seat if you can find them, otherwise trace the wiring from the internal components in the seat to the connector and make sure the heaters are going to heater power pins in the original harness, and temperature sensors are going to temperature sensor pins (temperature sensors may be polarized, that is, it makes a difference which pin goes to positive and which to ground).

I am swapping in leather seats. New drivers seat is 10 way, with memory and heat. What wires should have 12v and ground to get power to the seat?

And it won't. You probably jumped too many years, And definitely the plugs. 6 to 10. Power and ground is there, Just at the wrong spot. You need pin outs for both. Alldatadiy.com. You can buy them both.

I have heated seats in my '04 suburban, the driver seat will start heating up on its own. It will go from hi to lo and everything in between.

You should have an electrical connection, under the seat itself which can be disconnected. Be careful to stay away from any side airbag wiring.

I Replaced Leather seats with airbags with cloth seats with no airbags and now the airbag light is blinking. I used the dead headed plug ends from the cloth seat car for the end of the yellow airbag...

hi.
the airbag check system still thinks that there are airbags in the seats. when it does not get the right signal from the seats it flashes a fault. the dead head plug ends in the new seats are probably just blanking plugs that are not actually completing the circuit. unfortunately, you probably need the system to be reprogrammed so it does not check for these seats. i would look in the phone book and ring a few of the smaller "back street" garages to get a price for this to be done as it is going to be far cheaper than the dealer. the job should tace under 30 minutes to do. DO NOT make any attempt to transfer the airbag system from the old seats into the new ones. my friend once tried this. when he reconnected the battery his nice new seats exploded.......airbags are very dangerous and need to be dealt with properly. good luck. Driver Heated Seat 03 Suburban

The most likely failure point is the driver heated seat elements. They probably have excessive resistance and once they warm up a little they short out the module and it defaults to not working. I would recommend replacing both upper and lower driver seat elements.
