The best way to open a door that will not open is to lower the window and put a coat hanger down by the latch and pull the latch up and the door will open. Then I was able to fix it. I did not have to pull the panel off. For anyone having the same problem this works every time.

Call me 1-336-835-2180 10am-11pm 7 days a week eastern. Ask for R.C. and I'll be glad to tell you what all it takes. If you look at the other doors that will open you will notice a lever on the side of the latch it will release the latch. with the door open flip the latch and open it so you can see how it works. Also you can take the door panel partly loose. You will not get all the screws out. You can get enough out to pull the door panel out and reach into the door, pull the rod from the door handle and open it. Once the door is open there is a torque bit screw in the end of the door that holds the outside door handle on take it out, pull the door handle out and you will find a pin out or broke in the door handle. Take a handle on the door that works so you can see the difference. To do the back door on a 4 door you have to take out the interior panel that the top holder of the seat belt goes through to get to the screws in the end of the door panel just to get the interior door panel off to reach in. You can replace the rool pin with a screw, but be sure it's tight because it will back itself out and you'll have to do it all again. Been there and done that. Ha Ha. If you need more than this just call. I'm in North Carolina.

2006 passat drivers side door locks wont open from outside when unlocked using fob

It sounds like you might have two door latches that are faulty.... But you can try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and reconnect to see if that solves it. Sometimes VW's need their memory reset, have seen weird problems happen and this fixes it a lot of the time.

My interior lights wont work in my vw passat 2.0 tdi sport 2007

  • There is a fuse box on the drivers side either under the dash or on the aids of the dash. One of them fuses could be blown.

  • The other thing that could be going wrong is the harness on the driver side door. If you open the drivers door you will see a harness stretching from the frame to the door. You can get into that harness and look for broke, bulged or rusted wires and splice in new ones. This is common with aged vehicles because of the amount that door is used.

Shut off your Volkswagen Passat before replacing a fuse. Find the fuse box on the driver's side of the car, under a plastic cover on dashboard to the left side, door open.

Where is the fuse box on a vw passat

Open the drivers side door. There is a panel that the door covers when it is closed. The fuse box is behind that plastic cover.

99 vw passat doors will not open with remote & only 1 door will unlock sometime. rear door locks don't work most of the time.

I had the same problem on my 1998 passat and the first thing i done is take off the drivers side controls for electric windows etc(first step to door card removal) and upon disconnecting the multisocket and putting it back on just to try before going ahead, everything worked again. My problem was N/S rear and O/S/F doors wont open/unlock and drivers front works with key but does not work central locking or window etc.Just a wipe with WD40 on a artist paintbrush to lube it and it was fine but i could see fine damp in the door(i live in Birmingham, U.K and it was snowing for a one month period) which i suspect was from the un-usual cold weather we had.I had lived in East Sussex prior so from warm to freezing was most likely the cause as the door lock froze and one door even flew open as the catch froze and the locked door appeared closed but just stuck closed, wd40 solved that also.Hope this helps.

The rear right hand side door will not unlock and cannot be opened from the inside or outside all other doord are operating properly. the car is a vw passat 02

My 1998 passat done the left rear and drivers side then all.Take out the drivers side lock barrel, open door and undo 1 torx screw until it stops(it cant be removed fully) and then pull the handle lightly half way and wiggle the barrel out.Spray wd40 onto the inner bits and try get it into the plastic slot area(operates the sensors that cause this problem) . Put back and tighten up and then do this to all doors.Lubricate all door lock catches by spraying wd40 into every hole or orfice you see and that should help.
