Hi
Check the transmission fluid level. If the transmission light is flashing, the car's computer sees a fault with the transmission or transmission controls. You will need a scan tool to retrieve codes stored in the computer to determine the fault.
The "Check Engine" light, which is also called a "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" (MIL) or "Service Engine Soon" (SES) lamp, is there to signal you when a problem occurs that may require attention. This can include anything from a momentary hiccup that has has little or no noticeable affect on engine performance or driving safety to a failure of a major electronic component. There's no way to know what the light means without running a diagnostic scan on the system to determine the nature of the fault.
Fault codes are numeric codes that are generated when a problem is detected. If a sensor circuit reads out of range or some electronic component fails to respond to a command from the computer, the computer recognizes it as a fault and records a number that corresponds to the nature of the problem. The technician must then retrieve the code and refer to specific diagnostic chart or "fault tree" that gives him the step-by-step checks he has to perform to isolate the failed component. It can be a very time-consuming process depending on the nature of the problem. Usually the process works but sometimes it doesn't. An intermittent fault can be very difficult to track down, and may require repeated attempts to repair it.

2007 mercury mountaineer wrench light lit. what is that mean?

Wrench Warning Indicator (Base Instrument Cluster)
The instrument cluster receives the powertrain status from the PCM over the HS-CAN. When a powertrain system concern is detected, the PCM sends the instrument cluster a command signal to illuminate the wrench warning indicator. If the 4WD control module detects a failure with the 4WD drive system, the 4WD control module sends a message to the instrument cluster over the CAN to illuminate the wrench warning indicator. On 4.6L engines, if the transmission control module (TCM) detects a failure with the transmission, the TCM sends a message to the instrument cluster over the CAN to illuminate the wrench warning indicator.

It means a trip to the dealer or some other qualified repair shop .

Overdrive light flashing

Overdrive (O/D) Off
The O/D OFF indicator illuminates when the transmission is locked out of O/D. This dual function indicator will also flash off and on if a transmission malfunction is detected.
This means there is probably a DTC - diagnostic trouble code stored in the transmission control module ! You'll need to take it to a repair shop !

What does the exclamation symbol in a circle mean?

The exclamation mark inside a circle that looks something like a gear means you're having or are about to have an issue with your transaxle. I recommend you get your car to a transmission repair shop before the damage is too serious.

Drive light indicator flashes while driving!

Hi, if the light is flashing that means there is trouble code or codes set in the transmission control module.you need to get it to a shop were they can retieve these codes and fix the problem before you cause any further damage to your transmission by driving it in its current condition. it may be in limp mode.
It indicates a possible problem in the transmission. Avoid rapid acceleration and have the transmission checked by an authorized Honda dealer as soon as possible. The malfunction indicator lamp may come on along with the "D4" indicator if there is a problem in the automatic transmission control system.

What does it mean when the word "HOLD" appears blinking on my dashbord, I believe it has to do with the gears

Yes the HOLD light comes on when the computer detects a malfunction with the transmission....one quick flash of the hold light means a 01 code. six quick flashes would mean a 06 code. 5 long flashes would indicate a 50...6 long flashes would indicate a 60 code. Hope this helps.

2000 accord ex w/ 4 cylinder engine. The light around the D4 (indicating gear) flashes and the car accelerates very slowly in cold weather until the engine gets warm. What is wrong? How to fix?''

The D4 indicator light flashing indicates that your car's computer believes that there is something wrong with your transmission.

This is what the manual for your 2000 Accord says:

The "D4" indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch ON (II). If it flashes while driving (in any shift position), it indicates a possible problem in the transmission. Avoid rapid acceleration and have the transmission checked by an authorized Honda dealer as soon as possible.

Sometimes this will mean that you are simply low on transmission fluid, but you really should have it checked.

Hope this helps you.

Flashing shift indicator light

A flashing D4 light means a transmission error code is stored in the cars computer.

Is could be something as simply as a cable adjustment.

Without knowing the actual trouble code, it's hard to tell.
